king holiday celebration...



among the 100 plus celebrants at the lamar county courthouse was charles (cj) head jr., son of gordon college police chief charles head.

keynote speaker for the event was probate judge kathy martin who was introduced by county commission chairman jay matthews.

superior court judge tommy wilson offered greetings, rev. bobby smith read scripture and rev. keith battle offered a prayer.

the annual mlk parade processed from the e.p. roberts center on mill street to the courthouse for the ceremony and returned to the center for a second program featuring keynote speaker dr. rhonda meadows, commissioner of community health.

Seeing the picture of the young man at the "king holiday celebration" really made me miss home. My family and I are in another country and they really don't understand what this holiday mean.
