Thanks Mr. Chairman! You said you would improve the area around the soccer fields and you are. The trash has gotten out of control.

it was never like this when jimmy henry ran the recycle center,,,fire someone and hire him back,,,maybe the guy in charge of the place spend to much time on the internet and rideing his motor bike all over the county,,, or at the pastime grill, why does kenny roberts put up wit this?

$200,000 for 2 acres?

Anonymous said...

Why are we going to spend millions of dollars to fix a problem that could be fixed by simply doing a better job of keeping an area clean?

No wonder they have to raise property taxes.

it is 2.3 acres and a 2,800 square foot building

and it is not the fault of the city or those in charge a keeping the facility up. it is the citizens that continue to misuse the place.

Both City and County, Together!

CITY & COUNTY WORKING TOGETHER FOR THE COMMON GOOD: $PRICELESS

My property taxes are out the yazoo and we spend this kind of $$$ so the little soccer darlings don't have to look at something unsightly

why is the county buying something for the city again. the city owns the recycling center and the property so now we are going to buy a newer building and give it to the city and I just got a reassessment notice in the mail. get rid of all of them.

Anonymous said...

Shows you what kind of idiots run the county. Once again, for a few special interest people, the county is buying something where everyone but a few people pay and only a few people win.

The entire thing is sickening at a time when they raise taxes.

Who in the city has been elected to run the county??? Is it the same fools on the AG Authority all over again?

Anonymous said...

I love when morons like yourself get on this blob and bitch about something that you know nothing about. Get all the fact and then you can voice your opinion.
By the way, who are the special interest people that always benifit. You act like theres always somebody who's making out on all these deals. Who,When. Please tell me so I can understand.

If the author of that article could write clearly he might not have misunderstood it.

It appears what is really happening is at a time when the county has a shortfall or tough time making ends meet and has raised taxes, they have $200,000 to buy a building and land to appease the soccer mommies and expand the athletic resources.

Somehow after the constant short end the county gets when Jay makes deals with the city I have a feeling we are about to get screwed again.

Anonymous said...

I have some land in the city to sell can I negotiate with Jay?

Anonymous said...

yeah you can. he is a suave buisness man though so you might end up getting screwed.

Anonymous said...

Well I have 2.75 acres with a nice treehouse, thought he might offer $300k.

Anonymous said...

HOW MANY SQUARE FOOTAGE IS THAT TREEHOUSE? WE MIGHT COULD WORK ON THAT SON!

The funds to purchase come from SPLOST not your property taxes. I would rather the county use SPLOST to buy land than spend it on some other items that will depreciate. Taxes did not go up. Some valuations went up.

Anonymous said...

What a stooge!!

Your taxes didn't go up, the valuation did.

What SPLOST did we vote for to buy the trash depot and convert it into something for soccer mommy and daddy to watch their little darlings kick balls around?

Why should 10000 people pay for someone's little special interest group of 50 people because it is their personal idea of fun? Why don't the little soccer darlings and soccer mommy and soccer daddy get out their and sell donuts or wash cars and pay for their own hobby?

i wish jay would go back and look at that 300,000.00 th county gave the city thru splost and see if it really was spent on a ladder truck.. that truck was swapped out for a acheaper version and who kept the change... next time buy the stuff for the city and give it to them, don't truct them with the money...

Anonymous said...

that $$$ would do wonders in upgrading the animal shelter

Anonymous said...

They'd rather have a few dozen soccer mommies happy than do something for the 15000 other people in the county. Jay and the rest have got to go.

Speaking of Ladder truck, where is the new county fire station that was promiced 3 yrs. ago. to replaced the run down old grove st. gas station/ fire station.

How does a broke county justify spending money on something with no return for a few people?
