From lamar I would expect the poor thing to either be let roam loose to get hit by cars or shot or chained and beaten by some stupid angry slimeball.

I hope someday we get a good animal control ordinance. A few pet owners need to be chained and caged. The lowest form of life is a pet beater. The second lowest form is one that neglects pets. They are less than one step away fromn doing that to humans.
