As a public statement right now! I will not ever call 911 for an ambulance as long as Mid-Ga is in Lamar County! The Lamar County First Responders can show up, but Mid-GA will be asked to leave even if I am unconscious. The Implied Consent rule does not apply to me or my family members. So, MID-GA, DON'T SHOW UP! I have seen who they hire and their not killing me or any of my family members.

If you think Mid-Ga is so much better why dont you ask the family of the patient in Pike Co. that one of MGA paramedics pulled there trach out and the patient died because they could not get them intubated again. I hope the $2,000.00 your saving is worth it. I also live in Lamar County and have supported what the LCFD does but Andrews this will end up costing you your job before its all said a done.

KA stop whining. You've worked for every ambulance service to serve Lamar County, I am sure you will work for this one as well.

so if KA is highlander then you do know me. that also means you know where i live at so if you want to see what i have on paper you can come by and i will show it all to you. you also know my family's background and i DO know what i am talking about.
any ambulance service or any kind of public service agency dows and always will have some people working for them that other people dont like, dont care for,or just dont think very much of them.
MID-GA is a real good company with a real good reputation as far as i can tell from my research so i hope they will do good here in lamar county.
AS far as care goes i have one thing to say to you GOOD BYEEEEEEEEEEE

Highlander,

Maybe they will at least know how to find the hospital. I think CARE overpaid its employees....knowing the area should be of high importance.....the people who went through this nightmare would have been better off call the pizza delivery guy....bet he could find the hospital.

I agree there were some issues that needed to be addessed with CARE but i'm just wondering how much this is going to cost the county when Care files a law suite. I belive if you read the contract you will plainly see the county screwed this one up big time. What would have 30 more days hurt.

You can call 911 for the Barnesville-Lamar County Firefighters, First Responders, EMT-I or B. We have a medical response bag. If you want or don't want CARE or Mid-GA ambulance. We have CARE EMS carts and Fire-Rescue carts in town for Gordon College, Buggy Day, BBQ & Blues Festival, Homecoming, Sports, Halloween, Summer Break, and whatever. I read newspapers on Sept. 7, 2007 Fire Chief want 9 paid fulltime firefighters...

Something else interesting that happened on April 1 2008.

Don't blame us, oil industry chiefs told a skeptical Congress. Top executives of the country's five biggest oil companies said Tuesday they know record fuel prices are hurting people, but they argued it's not their fault and their huge profits are in line with other industries.

123 BILLION - PROFITS

Who's screwing who?

Barnesville-Lamar County Firefighters, Firefighters/1st responders, Firefighters/EMT-I, and Firefighters/EMT-B can help you. All firefighters have a medical response bags. Need 9 or 12 paid and fulltime firefighters for 24 hours and 7 days. Maybe don't need ambulance.

I saw LifeNet Georgia Air Medical in Griffin. Emory Flight coming in Lamar County for 5 min. Oh man! Almost dead for CARE Ambulance and Mid-Ga Ambulance for 15 or 20 minutes later in Griffin, Thomaston and Forsyth hospitals.

KA don't you have anything better to do than to keep wining about CARE and your job? If you spent the time looking for a job that you have been staying on puter you might actually find one!!

First, I would like to address who HIGHLANDER is! It's not KA or Charles Bowden or who ever you think it is. My initials are GM. If you know me that, then you know who it is. I have only posted one thing on here and that was the first comment I posted. Nothing else! The Paramedic that used to work for CARE was hired by Mid-GA after CARE lost the contract in Pike. YES, she did screw up and killed the patient by pulling out the tract. I didn't care for her as a medic anyway, she scared me too. Whether or not they filed a lawsuit against Mid-GA and her, I don't know, but the family had a case to do so if they so chose too. As far as pay goes, I cannot support my family on what Mid-GA pays its employee's. That would be a $4 dollar an hour pay cut which adds up to over $10,000 dollars a year I would lose. They problem was not The regular full-time employee's here everyday finding the hospital. This was a crew that had never been here before from Atlanta region. The full-timer's know how to find the hospitals. The crew from Atlanta, if they were wrong should have faced some kind of reprimand for not making it a priority to locate hospitals in the area if in fact that was the case. We don't know, we weren't all there at the time. But $2,500 is a big difference when it comes to hiring competent, good quality employee's. I just don't see Mid-GA doing that with there pay scale of $4 and $5 dollar an hour less than what CARE pays. I am really scared for the citizens who call 911 after CARE leaves. Not only that, I am still upset with the way the commisioners handled the situation, by at least not putting it out for bid from other EMS companies that are out there.

No Privates said...

It does not matter if Lamar gets Mid Georgia or stayed with Care. Because you will still have employees that may be sick and will have to bring employees from elsewhere to run the ambulance. Lamar and Pike both would only benefit if they ran their own EMS, or gained the contract with Upson Regional or Spalding Regional EMS. URMC and SRMC EMS you always have enough back-up from their service to send if there is a major incident. I'm totally against a private EMS service running a 911 contract that is based all over the state. I have worked Fire/EMS over 17 years and have seen the problems a private service will bring. Good luck to the citizens of Lamar.

Hey Highlander, You're not to be paramedic or EMT-I. We don't understand. No vote... Just bring back the money, pay back. No tax... I'm sorry Highlander, All CARE EMS and paramedics move to in Atlanta. All new paramedics and new Mid-GA is on April 24 and sign up. Can get a job and sign up. I think working for 12 hours on and 12 hours off, not 24 hours on. They have Emory Flight in Griffin. Emory Flight is coming in Lamar County and then find the hospitals.

What the heck are you trying to say? You all over the place and not making any sense? Slow down and try it again!

Highlander,

Spend less time whining. Go back to school and study English. Learn how to spell and punctuate. After that you will find a better job.

How's this for english, "Goeth Intercoarse Thyself!"

"Certain mistakes are just not permitted. Even though people drop the ball on occasion, we are not allowed to drop babies on their heads."

Your company dropped the baby on its head. It's unexcusable to have employees charged with transporting people to hospitals who cannot find the hospital.

Until you fully grasp that point
you will always defend irresponsible fools who place others in harm's way through neglect or carelessness.
