the election to fill the unexpired term of the late mayor dewaine bell will be held on february 5, 2008. qualifying will be held december 19-21, 2007.

I've been trying to imagine who might run since Mayor Bell's passing and I cannot think of a soul who can fill those shoes. He will be a very hard act to follow.
I hope the canidates that run will run because they love Barnesville and not for their own ego.

Yes he must have had some mighty big shoes if no one can fill them. Come on, he was a man just like the rest of the mayors are no better and no worse. He wasn't God. He didn't walk on water.
Msn come on yes Bell was a alright person and yes he was first black mayor of Barnesville but damn come one with it enough is enough. If some of the people would tell what they know about him people's view would change,I know mine did several years ago when i learned how he was. he didn't deserve all he got when he passed which I'm sorry he passed.
