When I go to work each day, I do not see people holding signs welcoming me. Aren't these "Presidents" just doing their jobs? How foolish I would feel holding signage "welcoming" those egotistical people to Barnesville. Gordon is taking over and, ruining our neighborhoods! Each day they encroach more and more! Shooting, Loud Music, Large buildings, Dirt in citizens yards, citizens walls in houses cracking, more brick walls,etc....We are loosing our community to all of this...what do we get in return? Maybe some of the students who can't pass the S.A.T. and are students at Gordon should stand out with signs...they are the ones who should be appreciative!

I agree..our neighborhoods are being taken over...Gordon is buying up every intown piece of property they can find. Before long we will be living in a town named "Gordon" instead of "Barnesville". The community will support the college...if the college doesn't play "BULLY"!

I think Gordon is great for the community. Expansion is great for the community. Change is great for the community. Complainers and whiners are bad for every community.

Wow...someone says, "Hey, wouldn't it be great if we practiced the age old tradition of hospitality and welcomed strangers to our commmunity and made them feel comfortable." and there are people who complain. You don't know if these people are egotistical or not. You actually know very little about them. No one is asking anyone to do more than be kind. Its a sad day when a person can't even do that.

Those of you who think it's great must not live within a half mile of it..........

No one is nicer than I. I am frustrated with the trash, bottles, cups, mud in my yard and; the cracked walls in my home that goes along with it all.

Along with a kind hospitable heart comes empathy.

I could throw a rock and hit Gordon from my house, and I think it's great. I'm glad that it's growing, and hope it continues.

I agree, I live one block from the college and hope it continues to grow, becomes a four-year college, and makes inprovements that benefit the city and community.

Have them stay in the dorms a couple of nights, that would really welcome them!!!

I think they will be recieving first-class accomodations at the luxurious Barnesville Motel.

is JAZMAN going?

Be thankful Gordon is here. That's one of the few things Barnesville has going for it.

no jazman is going to ga southern just as his father and mother did.

Just curious but how does a college affect the walls in your home?

People will complain about anything.

Gordon is a great asset for Barnesville and offers an opportunity for many children to get a good education. Gordon also offers plays and concerts that provides our community with cultural experiences that they might otherwise not have. There are also many community education classes and camps. Gordon employs aprox 200 people and brings money into our economy.
Think about the good things that Gordon does for Barnesville and quit complaing about the bad.
Show the USG President's what a great place Barnesville really is.

When the college builds the large buildings and dorms; and,
you live near the college, and have an older home with plaster walls....
the walls crack and, fall apart causing great damage!!!!

The college also does not take any responsibility,

It's not their fault that your house is old and falling apart. Sounds like your house is just old. Wow plaster walls. They don't make them like they used to.
