soccer is a waste of time

soccer is for scary boys, afraid of contact.

Soccer is much better exercise than football or baseball because you are running constantly, the clock almost never stops.

As for contact, while there is less than in football, there actually is a fair amount. PLUS - Other than shin guards, there are no pads, helmets, etc.

I agree with Mr. Grizzard.

My son plays both. He loves both equally, but given a choice he would play football. The contact is legal in football, not soccer. While the football players can squash the soccer players with their little fingers, the soccer players can literally run circles around the football players, and are usually in much better shape all around. As for contact, go watch some of these games for the high school kids, it's rough out there. Also, try running as hard as you can for 2 hours, you'll be begging to be taken out of the game for a few min just to rest. In football, baseball and basketball, you are begging to be put in!

I hate to break it to some of you, but there are other things in the world other than football!!!

like hockey, but not soccer

Imagine that. You can buy 10 tickets to the Super Bowl for what 1 ticket will cost you to the World Cup. I gues you back woods hicks wouldn't know about things like that, would you?

Kids continue to play. Football (the real name for soccer) players make much more in their profession.

Football players make more money considering the length of the season, that would be real NFL FOOTBALL players.
There is nothing more exciting than the American sport of football, especially at the colegiate level.
Soccer promotes children to practice chaos, watch the games.

When the world cup was in the US it was suppose to be the big break for soccer. When the US women won it was suppose to be the big break for soccer...not. It is just plain boring.

You can play soccer longer in life than you can play football. Soccer seems to be a sport that you can play way into middle age. You should see my father-in-law play. The man is agile. Football is a good sport, but I don't think you'll see to many 55 year olds doing full contact on a Saturday afternoon.

Football is known as Soccer outside the US.
Soccer is known as pansies inside the US.
Every man knows that no real work gets done in shorts.
JUST KIDDING

The real contact in soccer is in the stands with the crazy ass fans goin nuts and knockin teeth out.

Talk to football players, if you can, they all have had the smart knocked out of them, if they ever had any!

There's kids running around. Where's the pig?

this is actually just pig chase practice.

I have tried and tried to watch it on tv. I think it's a fantastic sport for girls and even for some men like the ones you see wearing those little spandex panty things riding around on bikes. Yes, it's true that the player is in good running around shape. You never see a fat guy or girl playing soccer. I miss roller derby.

There are some fat football players that can run faster and longer than some skinny nerd that likes soccer.

I like soccer. But I'm too fat and out of shape to play...guess I'll just complain about it on the blog. Soccer is a waste of time. =)

HEY, you could play football then!!!!!!

i play soccer at the college level and i disagree with most ya'll that say football is better. try getting a football player to come to one of my soccer work outs and see if they make it 2 hours. i don't think they will.

I would just like to say, as a parent, my son loves participating in soccer. He is not old enough to play football and frankly I don't care if he does. I am just glad he is not sitting on the couch watching T.V. or playing video games. It is a shame everyone must be so negative about children's sports.

At least Laura has good officals at our home games. The rec football is awful . The officals there cause so many problems. They Fight and cuss on the field with our children. We really need to think about who we got out ther refing our children.

You can take a soccer player, and turn him into a good football player. But you can not turn a football player into a soccer player cause they can't keep up!!!!!!!!! I have two boys who started out in soccer and they both are great football players and both still play soccer in the spring. Soccer helps so much with cordnation. Why don't some of you big footballl players try soccer just one time? Then let us know how you feel.
