fayette to get major chinese industry...

from the fayette citizen:

A "major Chinese company" may well be coming to Fayette County, judging by an invitation extended to The Citizen Wednesday afternoon by the Fayette County Development Authority and two other regional development organizations.

The invitation does not name the company nor how many jobs it is expected to add to the economy, but a formal announcement on the matter will be made by Gov. Sonny Perdue Sept. 12 at the Georgia Capitol.

According to the invitation the company will be making "a large investment in Georgia."

Local development officials are remaining tight-lipped on any details related to the project.

No other details on the pending announcement are available, but one could surmise the business will provide a significant amount of jobs given the Governor's involvement in the matter and that of the Georgia Department of Economic Development and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.

President Bush's Resignation Speech:

We all have our disagreements with President Bush. Immigration, U.S. Attorney firings, Iraq, Darfur, etc. are all hot topics these days. The following "speech" was written yesterday by an ordinary Maniac. While satirical in nature, all satire must have a basis in fact to be effective. An excellent piece by a person who does not write for a living. Sent with the author's permission.

The speech George W. Bush SHOULD give:

Normally, I start these things out by saying "My Fellow Americans." Not doing it this time. If the polls are any indication, I don't know who more than half of you are anymore. I do know something terrible has happened, and that you're really not fellow Americans any longer.

I'll cut right to the chase here: I quit. Now before anyone gets all in a lather about me quitting to avoid impeachment, or to avoid prosecution or something, let me assure you: there's been no breaking of laws or impeachable offenses in this office.

The reason I'm quitting is simple. I'm fed up with you people.

I'm fed up because you have no understanding of what's really going on in the world. Or of what's going on in this once-great nation of ours. And the majority of you are too damned lazy to do your homework and figure it out.

Let's start local You've been sold a bill of goods by politicians and the news media. Polls show that the majority of you think the economy is in the tank. And that's despite record numbers of homeowners including record numbers of MINORITY homeowners. And while we're mentioning minorities, I'll point out that minority business ownership is at an all-time high. Our unemployment rate is as low as it ever was during the Clinton Administration. I've mentioned all those things before, but it doesn't seem to have sunk in.

Despite the shock to our economy of 9/11, the stock market has rebounded to record levels and more Americans than ever are participating in these markets. Meanwhile, all you can do is whine about gas prices, and most of you are too damn stupid to realize that gas prices are high because there's increased demand in other parts of the world, and because a small handful of noisy idiots are more worried about polar bears and beachfront property than your economic security.

We face real threats in the world. Don't give me this "blood for oil" thing. If I was trading blood for oil I would've already seized Iraq's oil fields and let the rest of the country go to hell. And don't give me this 'Bush Lied People Died' crap either. If I was the liar you morons take me for, I could've easily had chemical weapons planted in Iraq so they could be 'discovered.' Instead, I owned up to the fact that the intelligence was faulty. Let me remind you that the rest of the world thought Saddam had the goods, same as me. Let me also remind you that regime change in Iraq was official US policy before I came into office. Some guy named 'Clinton' established that policy. Bet you didn't know that, did you?

You idiots need to understand that we face a unique enemy. Back during the cold war, there were two major competing political and economic models squaring off. We won that war, but we did so because fundamentally the Communists wanted to survive, just as we do. We were simply able to outspend and out-tech them.

That's not the case this time. The soldiers of our new enemy don't care if they survive. In fact, they want to die. That'd be fine, as long as they weren't also committed to taking as many of you with them as they can. But they are. They want to kill you. And the bastards are all over the globe.

You should be grateful that they haven't gotten any more of us here in the United States since September 11. But you're not. That's because you've got no idea how hard a small number of intelligence, military, law enforcement and homeland security people have worked to make sure of that. When this whole mess started, I warned you that this would be a long and difficult fight. I'm disappointed how many of you people think a long and difficult fight amounts to a single season of 'Survivor'.

Instead, you've grown impatient. You're incapable of seeing things through the long lens of history, the way our enemies do. You think that wars should last a few months, a few years, tops.

Making matters worse, you actively support those who help the enemy. Every time you buy the New York Times, every time you send a donation to a cut-and-run Democrat's political campaign, well, dammit, you might just as well Fedex a grenade launcher to a Jihadist. It amounts to the same thing.

In this day and age, it's easy enough to find the truth. It's all over the Internet. It just isn't on the pages of the New York Times or on NBC News. But even if it were, I doubt you'd be any smarter. Most of you would rather watch American Idol.

I could say more about your expectations that the government will always be there to bail you out, even if you're too stupid to leave a city that's below sea level and has a hurricane approaching. I could say more about your insane belief that government, not your own wallet, is where the money comes from. But I've come to the conclusion that were I to do so, it would sail right over your heads.

So I quit. I'm going back to Crawford. I've got an energy-efficient house down there (Al Gore could only dream) and the capability to be fully self-sufficient. No one ever heard of Crawford before I got elected, and as soon as I'm done here pretty much no one will ever hear of it again. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to die of old age before the last pillars of America fall.

Oh, and by the way, Cheney's quitting too. That means Pelosi is your new President. You asked for it. Watch what she does carefully, because I still have a glimmer of hope that there are just enough of you remaining who are smart enough to turn this thing around in 2008.

Why on earth should people support and stand behind a "president" who:

1.) Wants anyone crossing our border illegally to get full benefits of citizenship.

2.) Supports an attorney General who fired Federal Prosecutors for political reasons. The judicial branch is supposed to be independent of the political branches of out government.

3.) Is like the Angel of Death. When he does a photo-op with a group or agency it is generally right before or during a big budget cut to that very group. Look at the history.

4.) Is incapable of admitting a mistake. For example we were CLEARLY told Sadam had a link to 9/11, but the fact is the Saudis who are business partners of the Bush family spawned most of the terrorists. We clearly went into the wrong country.

5.) Stood by a very poor Secretary of Defense as he let Bin Laden slip away, and instead took us into a civil war in a country that had ZERO to do with ground zero.

6.) Outed a CIA agent because her husband spoke against Bush's war.

7.) Avoided Vietnam by hiding in the Air Force Reserve, and he never even reported as required. Anyone who was ever in Vietnam or in the age group to be drafted knows EXACTLY how that crap works. Us poor white people went while pigs like Bush were politically helped into safe zones for rich or politically connected kids. Five friends of mine died in the last Vietnam while idiots like Bush hid out better than the bathroom trolling Republican from Idaho.

8.) To accomplish his unpopular and unwise executive decisions, gets his spin machine going to polarize the country or damage people telling the truth.

Let's face it, the real reason over 2/3 of the country thinks Bush is a screw-up is because he is nothing more than a rich, not particularly bright person who was always bailed out by his daddy. This means he never had to learn how to sort good choices from bad choices; all he does is know how to play the system to get bailed out. As Iraq now moves past being the trillion dollar war, and by the way Bush FIRED some of his advisors that predicted it would be a half-trillion dollar war, all we have really done is increase the number of terrorists.

It will be dozens of years before we recover from what that idiot has done to our people and the rest of the world. He is a fake and a liar. 70% of Americans and 90% of the rest of the world know that.

7:35 America actually thinks less of your democrat controlled Congress than they do our President. Just last month they received the lowest rating of any congress ever in the history of the US. If given enough time and democracy takes hold in Iraq, Pres Bush will go down in history as one of the great presidents in US history. Unfortunately, democrats are short-sighted schemers who would rather see America fail in all endevears just to gain political power.

The problem is the same as with Hitler. Some people will ignore the overall path of a leader because they think it is unpatriotic to be critical of a leader no matter how incompetent, dishonest, or bad for mankind he is.

God have mercy on our country. Forgive us for what we have allowed to be done, unite us, and make us great once again.

I voted for Bush when he initially fooled me into thinking he could run the country. I did so even though his draft avoidance during Vietnam bothered me.

Then I started watching the job he did by carefully looking at the facts, not what any particular media was releasing.

I also had occasion to see him pull two-faced things, congratulating people for a job well done while stabbing them in the back, in something I was directly involved in. In this particular case he violated the rights of many thousands just to promote an unwise business venture.

This is why my own opinion of Bush is that he is absolutely unworthy to be in any position of leadership.

He has led us into a war by saying there WERE weapons of mass destruction. When that fell apart they drummed up some meeting between someone in al-Qaeda and someone in Iraq's government in a third country. Tricky Dick Chaney spread that nonsense.

Now the excuse is the terrorists in Iraq would be over here if we weren't fighting them there, but the fact is our attack on Iraq has spawned a large number of new terrorists.

At a price tag that will go well beyond a trillion dollars, with virtually no improvement in the border security, I can now look back and understand why we should never elect a rich kid that never had to solve any problems of his own. I just want to puke when I see that draft avoider standing in his flight suit.

Had he pulled that silver spoon out of his mounth and went to Nam he would have understood war more than that Nazi midget he picked as a Secretary of Defense.

Bush will go down in history as the person who killed the reputation of the USA and bankrupted our government. For all the Republican banter about good money management Bush has single handedly pushed us from a surplus back to a huge deficit.

All the supports can say is "if he wins in Iraq he will go down in history as a hero". Hey, I have news for you. We already lost. With a few carpet knives a handful of people have cost us trillions of dollars and our good name. We have degenerated to slaughtering innocent people (although we do get a few real terrorists once in a while) because of a president that has strawmen that lie for him.

To all only time will tell if the president was right or wrong. I do know for a fact that the media (any media) does not report the reality of what is happening in Iraq or Afganistan. They only report what they want you to here. If you believ what you see on TV, you are part of the problem. You ought to seek a pen pal military member and get the facts first hand from someone living it. Pull your head out of your butt and find out what's really taking place.

Apparently WDM skipped too much school and doesn't know the difference between "to" and "too".

That's probably why he thinks W is smart.

You are digging pretty hard to pull out the misuse of 'to' or 'too.' This is the basic mindset of the modern democrats. They don't want to argue on the substance of the issues so they distract you with some bullcrap. They love tearing people down to build themselves up(including our President.)

Do you ever have any useful information or facts to contribute in a discussion other than childish sneering taunts?

We've already heard the "your mother xxxxx" taunts on the playground.

Most of the tough times we are in now are a result of GW Bush.

If you loom at the facts he created the Iraq war. He used the patriotism we all shared after 9/11 to ram through all sorts of liberty stripping changes in out country.

He ignored the fact the Saudis, business partners of his, spawned the vast majority of the hijackers.

He picked that litte screwup Rumsfeld who, when the CIA and Special Forces asked for support in getting Bin Laden, said we should use tribesmen in the mountains instead of our troops.

He did skip out on Vietnam. That's clearly in the record. He used his daddy's money and power to get into the Air Guard and once in the AG he didn't even report as he should. While he wasn't alone in using draft avoidance, the problem comes from he playing like he was a "fighting man".

That really makes any real Vietnam vet want to puke. That PU55Y chicken Bush hiding in the AG. At least Clinton was straight up about his hiding. No one blames anyone for not wanting to go to Nam, but using a draft avoidance scheme as a resume is sickening.

Look at the mess with the border. Despite the vast majority of USA citizens wanting something done, Bush insults us by wanting to keep those borders open.

He actually orders or encourages the feds to NOT enforce the laws we have.

I can't understand how anyone who loves our country supports Bush. We will be 20 years recovering from the mess he made, and you can bet his rich daddy or the Saudis won't bail us out.

wdm said...

Defending the President is called 'childish sneering taunts.' You understand what I have been saying then don't you. It's a sad state of affairs when the same group of democratic leaders, who with the same information as the President, voted to go to war in Iraq now turn their back on our country, our President, and our military. We, both you and me and everyone reading, depend on foriegn oil for our daily lives. Until something happens to change that, somebody's got to do something and that is all there is to it.
