the barnesville city council spent an hour and 15 minutes in executive session tonight, emerging with the news that no deal has been reached on the land deal to resolve the ag. authority controversy.
the executive session was couched under the terminology of "discussing the future acquisition of real estate".

If the Atlanta Braves decide they don't want to play baseball any longer, they can't give the team away. So what makes the Ag authority think they can give the team away when they get tired of playing with their toys. These nuckle heads are going to continue to be dumb until we have auditors from the state come in and really make us all look like fools. Those in office for doing it and the citizens for doing nothing about it.
ok barnesville you tried to take something with nothing and got called. its time to fold your hand. if you go all in you are going to get called again.
I think the only way to get this resolved is for the State Attorney General to investigate the AG authority and the School Board for their secret meeting, and the results could open other doors.
Crooks come in shapes and sizes, even jumbo.
can somebody explain in easy to understand words whats this all about.
anon 3:16 they is more info about this in the dispatch that can help explain it. seems they talked with the man.
To 8:36 anon, that story only explains one individuals understanding of this deal. And it really doesn't shed any new light on the subject.
im starting to see the picture now. it looks like some funny stuff has been going on. wmd both people have had a say and it looks almost like a coverup is really there because why did it took so long.
Has it really been that long? Think about how long it would take any individual or business working on putting a business deal like this together. There probably was alot of jockeying going on behind the scenes but it was just business. It truly doesn't matter to me who gets control, the land, or the money...it all belongs to taxpayers and will be used for public works in some capacity. I honestly just didn't like it when that one person came out making rude comments about our local officials.
WDM...I agree with you. People jump to conclusions too fast. I think they have way too much time on their hands.
I think we should just change to a communist form of rule like WDM suggest. After all, thats what it is. I guess most others agree too.
wdm – it’s ok for you to refer to me by name. I know who I am. To reply, I don't consider them rude comments. I consider them holding our elected officials accountable to the office they strived to obtain while asking for the public trust. I am sorry that you don’t have the ability to see the injustice to county residents over the ag assets. Of course I don’t blame you. It is regrettable that so many Americans today want to stand for something which they have no idea what they are.
Politician will tell the people anything to be elected. It is up to the people to hold those politicians accountable or we deserve everything jammed down our throat. As the old saying goes; fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.
GMac -- No hard feelings. We basically have major ideological differences. But remember all the local officials have friends and mothers and fathers and wives and kids who might be reading this blog too.
