reader suggested question 2: will we ever see another...
civil war in this country with those living here fighting amongst themselves?
notice i didn't use the word 'citizens'.

It appears that way to me. Maybe not in our lifetimes, but our children and grand children may have to deal with this issue. What I base this on is the Races want to isolate themselves, the sects, want to do the same, the Religions want to do the same. At what point do they reach the position that fighting over it appears to be the only answer. I just hope I am dead and gone when that happens.
Excellent answer Juan. If we ever have the first one it will be between conservatives and libs, or as the libs would call it, The War Of White And Black, because this would be a sure fire way to ignite the black community, even though most black people are far more conservative than myself. You know God created all of us, but he made us different races for a purpose, If he wanted us to be one color he would have made us that way to start with. Think about it before you get mad and call me a racist. Why should we not stand up for our own race?
Juan!! What do you call the War Between The States? It was a civil was even though a lot of people in the South refer to it as Northern Agression against the South.
juan - study your history. pay close attention around 1863 with the war between the states or the cival war as it is often called. That was a war between country men and governments.

I think the point Juan is making is that there is no such thing as a "civil" war. There is nothing civil about killing anyone - maybe good reasons, but never civil.
The War Between the States, 1860 to 1865 was known as the "War of the Rebellion", it was changed in the Twenties to the War Between the States. Never has it been listed as a civil war except by the media and the unknowing.
It wasn't a "civil war" because the South wasn't trying to overthrow the United States Gov., just trying to create their own seperate nation. It was termed this way in History books but that is actually the wrong term for that war. That's what I have gathered from one definition I read a long time ago but I could very easily have read a bad definition.
TRUTHASIKNOWIT- you are correct. There is hardly a difference between the way people who are labeled Liberals see the world and the way people labeled Conservatives see it, other than all major political and social ideas and how they view them. There is no difference in their views of Abortion, Affirmative Action, President Bush, Global Warming, Iraq War, Gay Marriage, (unfortunately) The Fairtax Plan and taxes all together. Now if you would like I will just say to make it simple that I was referring to the vast majority of the political groups known as Democrats and Republicans. As far as I know there is no greater divide in America right now than the ideas belonging to these two groups. The whole war of the races was just a small poke at the left by me, not a sincere idea.
Rev.MJB- Is the only comeback a Lefty ever has is Fox News? Would you be surprised to know I also listen to Air America in the morning and watch CNN. I have even gone so far as to watch Michael Moore movies and found a little of it enjoyable- not really enjoyable, maybe more like I didn't fall asleep or anything.
...and yes, there will be a knock down, drag out fight in the not so distant future. When the monthly government handout stops coming, that is when it will kick off.
