No big deal, just alot of people standing around drinking and chatting. That could be done without closing down half the town.

I liked it better at the AG center.

Was a wonderful time....until midnight. Then the music got old, and louder. Only problem is when your a cook, time is valuable and quiet time is rare. Let's be considerate next year

Scott Leverett and company did an excellent job in the management and hospitality of the entire event. Very positive for Barnesville!

I was impressed the way the city employees kept the areas clean. I think that says alot our good city employees that does this unappreciated tasks like emptying trash. I tip my hat to the guys who kept the area clean. A clean area says alot about the community.

Why didnt they have it at the AG center? There is a lot more room and then they wouldnt have had to close down the streets in town. It just makes more sense to me. I think they should do buggy days the same way so it wont be so crowded.

That makes too much sense....I think they want everyone to see downtown B'ville. Anyway, it sure would be easier on law enforcement to have it at the AG center.

95% of cooking competions such as this are held in open fields. According to most of the team's I talked with this weekend they love the event, because its being held downtown. They get tired of the same old thing and like something different.

keep the food open longer, and have a more set schedule with times...
add more events...
other than that, it was great

Our town is so beautiful now and the BBQ and Blues festival just gives us another chance to show it off. Anyway we cannot always have things our way and you are not going to satisfy everyone no matter how hard you try. Good job!

It's not like Barnesville is a MAJOR city, closing a few streets just makes you drive ONE block over. Come on people get in the BBQ spirit, have some fun and allow Barnesville to host this wonderful event downtown. After all, what's there to do downtown anyway??

You can always go to the any of the businesses down town and support the local businesses

we support our local businesses every day of the year! Let's have fun once and a while. If anything event's like this will help businesses. I wish you would explain to me why this event is a bad idea. And how does this hurt local businesses? If a few closed road's one day of the year break's your business then you probably werent going to make it anyway.

that last blog was actually ment for 3:14!

Sorry 9:39

So, let me get this straight. We close the roads and loose business? How does that happen? Dont people WALK into the stores? ISnt there people at the bbq walking around checking out the stores? In theory it should HELP business, unless your store has NOTHING they need?

Not all murchants feel this way. Its always the same narrow mindeded business owners who always do the complaining.
