ricky morris, attorney for peggy dorsett (right), produced an affidavit in court this afternoon in which rudy vaughn agreed to give testimony 'exculpating' - clearing - his codefendant dorsett of all guilt in their racketeering trial.
morris' gambit came as part of his motion to have dorsett tried sparately from vaughn.
"it will be difficult for a jury to distinguish between the acts of peggy dorsett and rudy vaughn," morris argued.
district attorney richard milam dismissed the effort as a ploy to get a continuance and noted the county had gone to great expense to call 250 jurors for the start of trial april 30.
'i could care less how much it costs lamar county. my client is entitled to a fair trial," morris retorted.
judge tommy wilson agreed to accept written motions on the matter and on the matter of supression of warrants and evidence until wednesday. he will rule on thursday.
just after lunch, the judge denied a motion for a continuance, clearing the way for the april 30 start.

If she was living with him how the hell can she be exonerated. Give me a break. Caught red-handed and yet he is not quilty? Man what a crooked justice system we have if you are caught red-handed and when all of the evidence is found within your home you don't deserve a trial why waste the taxpayers money defending you or procecuting you. Just like all the time and money the taxpayers are having to put out to defend Bryan Nichols when there were eyewitnesses how the hell do they justify defending him. He knew what he was doing, why don't we consider the victims first when a crime is committed instead of trying to find an excuse for the criminals.

Nancy Pelosi condemned the new record highs of the stock market as "just another example of Bush policies helping the rich get richer". "First Bush cut taxes for the rich and the economy has rebounded with new record low unemployment rates, which only means wealthy employers are getting even wealthier at the expense of the underpaid working class".
She went on to say "Despite the billions of dollars being spent in Iraq our economy is still strong and government tax revenues are at all time highs. What this really means is that business is exploiting the war effort and working Americans, just to put money in their own pockets".
When questioned about recent stock market highs she responded "Only the rich benefit from these record highs. Working Americans, welfare recipients, the unemployed and minorities are not sharing in these obscene record highs". "There is no question these windfall profits and income created by the Bush administration need to be taxed at 100% rate and those dollars redistributed to the poor and working class". "Profits from the stock market do not reward the hard work of our working class who, by their hard work, are responsible for generating these corporate profits that create stock market profits for the rich. We in congress will need to address this issue to either tax these profits or to control the stock market to prevent this unearned income to flow to the rich."
When asked about the fact that over 80% of all Americans have investments in mutual funds, retirement funds, 401K's, and the stock market she replied "That may be true, but probably only 5% account for 90% of all these investment dollars. That's just more "trickle down" economics claiming that if a corporation is successful that everyone from the CEO to the floor sweeper benefit from higher wages and job security which is ridiculous". "How much of this 'trickle down' ever get to the unemployed and minorities in our county? None, and that's the tragedy of these stock market highs."
"We democrats are going to address this issue after the election when we take control of the congress. We will return to the 60% to 80% tax rates on the rich and we will be able to take at least 30% of all current lower Federal Income Tax payers off the roles and increase government income substantially. We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income in our country and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest."
When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied ; ; "We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities. For example,
we have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities.
Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long ways to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as "Americans"."
I ask - are these the kind of people we want leading our country?

Yesssssssssss it is a strip club. My husband and I were going to Curves in Griffin every weekend just to play pool, neither of us drink but we like to play pool. Well this past Friday we walk in the door and I see topless women!! I was totally shocked to say the least. I asked my friend who works there and she said that they were approved on Wednesday the 11th. So yes I know what I'm talking about. They now call it Curves Showbar and grill.

If any local church controlled the community it would be a much better place to live and raise children. If the church could even influence public opinion it would be a better place. As it is, we can only pray that sinners will come to repentance and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Christians are taught to forgive. Granted, some people are easier to forgive than others, but everyone deserves forgiveness. Even those who make malicious statements with absolutely no basis of fact.
If Rudy is found not guilty, it will not be because of his church affiliation. It will be because the DA did not present a sufficient case against him. There will be 12 jurors, probably not all of them church goers.

Just to respond to that horrrible justice system in Barnsville,I have seen and heard enough. It has taken them a whole year to respond to this mess. The blog on Ben Harris finally gave clarity to this whole thing. Even though it was written previously by an anonymous blogger almost six months ago. It has came live from the courtroom that ben harris is a thief, an liar an has been given ammunity in exchange lies told on Randolph Vaughn so that Lamar County can walk away with his property. Imagine a County been so corrupt, an the justice system so unfair that they would stoop to such a low level as to believe a liar, even to have their law enforcement to get on the stand an tell lies. I have known Judge wilson to always be fair, I guess that low down evil sherriff got to him an told lies like he did the rest of them.Where is the intergity an honor that judges are sworn to.

According to Court documents, it took a whole year in and out of the Vaughn property to plant and come with a whole lot of lies in and around the place by law enforcement.

Cut to the chase, Ben Harris has admitted to stealing cargo loads, selling the goods in your county and surrounding counties and Vaughn who may have not known the circumstances behind his dealings whether one or more items, are subject to the prison term that he will never face because of lies he whispered in the right ears to maybe assure Lamar County of the property they seem to so badly need and want.I am not convinced that Mr. Vaughn stole anything, only that his property will pay for other people's wrong doings in your court system.

On one hand you have a little angel who didn't do anything wrong but possess enough weapons to keep a war going. And enough property that wasn't his (probably planted by the CIA) to keep a small town going. (Milner).

If Rudy is found guilty and he may very well be guilty then should'nt a long prison sentence be sufficent,after all the county should only be interested in getting to the truth and giving punishment if needed.But I know from a very close law enforcement source that Rudy has been offered at least two plea deals both with different lengths of prison time but they both include him having to give the county all of his property.It's obvious that the county is determined to get his property either way and probably so the county can recover the 250,000.00 plus spent out there by the so called sheriff.
Hey why should the county just be interested in his property? The county will take it from him anyway if he is delinquent in his taxes a couple of years, But he has found theivery is profittable so he probably won't get behind on his taxes. In my opinion she's lucky and got off because there was some valuable property involved in the plea deal that the county wanted.$$$$$ is a valuable bargaining tool or why did'nt the county just say the heck with a plea deal and the property and lets give both the max time in prison.But now what appears to be a guilty person is walking free simply because the $$$$ is more important.
