would the nba and others have reacted similarly had hardaway been gay and announced a personal hate for straight people?

I think gay people are great!! Especially the men...the don't bother anyone, stay to themselves...I have a best male friend who is gay..

I do not agree with homosexuality, because God says it it is wrong in Scripture, but you don't go around bashing people. I don't hate anyone, but I have compassion for them if I feel that they are leading any lifestyle that can have a destructive end for them. Tim Hardaway has problems,too, and I am sorry for him.

I think if the situation was reversed the NBA should take the same position. Reason, that is something they should not be a part of.
Homosexuality is a selection in life. Nothing else, a person selected that life style, no body held a gun to their head, or diagnosed them as being that way.

In Romans 1:26-28, God gives man over to his own desires because of committing homosexuality. That means He does not want it to be done. What he meant then , He means for us now. There are many places, but God only has to say it once for me to accept it.

the bible also says women shouldn't cut their hair and i'm pretty sure that's ignored/out of date/not intended to be taken literally...given that God made us all, and there have been studies showing that there are brain differences between homosexuals and heterosexuals could it really be that God makes gay people gay just like others of us are straight? I can't imaigne anyone would 'choose' to be gay so that people like many on this blog could insult them and feel superior...who wants that?

1:17, there is a thing called temptation. Just because something comes into my mind, and I may be tempted to do it does not mean I HAVE to do it. Our world is so bombarded with sexual perversions that sexual sins of all kinds are rampant. Just because you have a desire does not necessarily make you a homosexual. Many times it begins in youth with abuse by an older person. Pornography plays a big part in sexual perversions. The Bible tells us to flee...run very fast...away from temptation, and you have a lot less trouble in those areas you may be weak in.

I think that the NBA did the right thing. How we would he feel if someone said that they hate black people? That's an inappropriate comment and very irresponsible to say.
I have never had someone say that they hate me---a heterosexual, but I often hear discriminatory comments against gays. So I don't think that your question is relevant.

I dont care what anyone says, you just dont wake up one day and you are gay. I think you are born that way. No one in their right mind would want to deal with what these people go through.
Jimmy Creech is the FORMER pastor. He is just trying to find excuses for sin. Too many so- called ministers are not men of God. Don't trust every person that says he is a Christian. Does he show the fruit of that relationship with Jesus Christ?
I do agree that there are many other sins mentioned in the Scripture, but Homosexuality is included among them...and very strongly, I might add.

9:50...I got your point. This man thinks homosexuality is okay as long as you are just with one partner and you don't beat them up. He is trying to keep everyone pacified and not call sin just what it is. These people who use the pulpit to pacify anyone and everyone will have to answer to God, not me.
Speaking of the word homosexuality...The Bible describes homosexuality, it does not have to use the term. The meaning is clear. Read Romans 1:25-32. This shows the downward path that homosexuality will lead you.
Quoting the bible to further your point on current social issues is a crutch for the weak minded who don't have sense enough to think through issues themselves.
You may not agree with homosexuality and that is certainly you're right but don't expect others to have your same code of morals. Morality is subjective.
Homosexuality is something your are born with. There is scientific proof of this, but like everyting else, the bible beaters choose to ignore science when it doesn't suit their agenda.

Everyone is influenced by what they choose to fill their minds with. I choose to put into mine those things which are true and right, The Scriptures. No one truly "thinks for himself". You just choose who you will allow to influence your thoughts and form your opinions from those influences.
religionismindcontrolling---I totally disagree with you and your discrimatory comments. I'm neither gay nor bi, I'm just tolerant of everyone. The way that someone chooses to live their life is of no concern to me. Gay people are really people and I would just like to think that Barnesville has become more of accepting and tolerant.
FYI: It's San Francisco and the last time I checked homosexuality isn't listed in the DSM IV as a mental issue.
I know the bible says its wrong but I can't quote to you what passage it is in but the bible does say that it is a sin for a man to lie down with a man.
