part of the solution or part of the problem?

Problem. Without a vested interest in the property, inhabitants have less need for personal responsibility.

what % of the children that grow up in public housing end up pregnant and in there own public housing. the answer should answer the question.

oh excuse me you found one in a million. and if you divide 2billion by the # of kids i guess you could say 20% make it out great observation

Anoymous! If I were the bitter, angry little man that you are, I would be afraid to reveal my idenity too. Rich teens, poor teens, and Christian teens get pregnant too. Get down off your high horse and get a grip on reality. Besides, public housing is probably the best Lamar County can do, given the sorry state of our so called political leaders.

talk about an angry young man "thanks" why should we accept the reality when it's wrong. work hard and it will pay off for generations to come. by the way i'm not angry i'm rich and happy

Public Housing is a problem, since it doesnt pay taxes, produces a large number of children, who their parents do not pay school taxes, but use the institutions.
It is an expense to the city and county to maintain these facilities. There needs to be a solution that it will not be a burden on the rest of the community, as I presently see it.

watch out your going to be called a bitter angry man, just for telling it like it is

Now, let me get this straight. Public housing produces a large number of children. Is it caused by something in the wood work?
For the person who turns his nose up at those who live in public housing and says he is not angry. He is rich and happy. Remember this. Wealth won't get you into the Kingdom of God. Take that wealth and help those who are less fortunate,

There is no bitterness. The facts are the facts, there are enough documents that support that public housing does not support the local government operations that the individual home owner has to. I am not a do gooder, as some claim to be. The children in public housing is one of the growing statistics, dont whine Phil read the information that is available.

when you give or throw money to a worthless cause all you get is richer worthless people for a short period of time. then they are right back where they started. i give and give alot. that i assure you isn't a ticket to heaven. public housing atmosphire produces tax burden children that i and hopefully you have to pay for. it never ends on and on and on and on.

Who cares. Nobody in this county gives a <@%* anyway. Nuts run things and more nuts comment about it.

i'm a nut. oh and i'm proud of it. by the way money isn't the answer.

getting a job is the answer.

Not as big a problem as people who cheat on taxes.

Not as big a problem as politicians who lie, can't admit mistakes, take bribes or favors, and generally the rest of us.

Why pick on poor people so much when the rich boyz have their hands in the middle class pockets just as much or more?

i'm tyring of this conversation my mind is all sappy with feeling sorry for not all but most of the dead beats. good night

public housing causes a lot of those problems....especially crime. You are going to have it reguardless because the majority of these people want handouts and do not care about bettering themselves. Its there way of life.

quit trying this person is just to liberal. give me give me

Herman to win by a nose. He is a very honorable and hard working man who would do his best for no recognition. You might not hear much out of him but he'll be taking care of our business. Sue O'neal scares the heck out of me. She works with D. Chamberlain everyday too and that is a huge red flag. The last thing we need is his influence in our schools again.

If we didnt have public housing, do you suppose they would be in a city with public housing, and not be an expense to us.

Lots of people live in public housing. Some of it is is multiple family housing paid for through Government programs, and some of it is large single family homes paid for through Government theft from taxpayers.

Either way the middle class taxpayer foots the bill. The middle class pays to help the poor people remain poor, they also pay to help the cheating politicians and their friends remain rich.

I can't decide which one is worse, the lazy poor that doesn't know any other way or the lazy crooked politician and his friends that think a little dishonesty is OK.

Without public housing the same people would be here...they would just be living in some real crap houses. The neighborhoods would probably resemble Matamoros, Mexico. And trust me, that is some real rough living right there.

I've got to quote Reagan on this one:

"government is not the answer to our problems -- government is the problem."
