lamar has new chief appraiser...


linda mayo, 44, a resident of northeast lamar.

she holds an appraiser III designation from the dept. of revenue and is currently a team leader in the henry county tax assessors office. mayo is also a certified real estate appraiser and holds a real estate license.

she has a daughter, ashley thomas, who attends gordon college.

details in next week's print edition.

I don't think so. She looks a little more beige to me. Maybe tan. It's hard to tell by the picture though. Of course her teeth are white. And Anonymous, it appears you said that with some attitude as if you have a problem with her race. Do you?

I wish Ms. Mayo the best as she begins her new job. She certainly sounds qualified to do the job, so we welcome her to Barnesville and the Assessors' office.
