former uga defensive coordinator erk russell is dead from a stroke/auto accident.

he invented football at georgia southern after leaving uga.

godspeed erk!

Erk Russell was the man who should have replaced Dooley when Dooley claimed to have a contract with Auburn. Shame Dooley didnt go. It was said Erk was to replace Dooley, and many of us wish that he did. Look what he did at GA Southern.

This is a sad day indeed for the Bulldog Nation .. He was the greatest defensive coach I've ever seen, and also just one hell of a man .. GATA, Erk, and rest in peace
