I feel safe after midnight on Thomaston Street. I do not feel safe on Mill Street at anytime, but it's just the geographical uncertainty.....kinda like a warp zone in Mario Brothers where you don't know if it's gonna be a shortcut with coins everywhere or just some tunnel that takes you backwards and makes things more dangerous because your time limit is running out. I find the altitude to be a little too strenuous on my lungs. Plus black people are ape shit crazy when gathered together in groups. Could be that tribal mentality thing mixed with the deep hatred for pale people.
As to whether or not we feel safe on Mill Street, Do any of us feel safe on any Street? Do you not drive your car after Midnight for fear that you may be in a wreck? If it were any other street would you question your safety? It is truly not a Black or White thing. It's sad that someone would make it a Racist issue. It is an IGNORANT thing. I work and some of the people I work with, white and black, are truly ignorant.
I feel that these type of questions are being kind of racist, but to answer one to my knowledge crime is everywhere. With that stated on every street corner there could be a crime committed. Now weren't there child molesters living on Thomaston St., so do u feel safe letting your child walk down that street. Myself I personally think that black people are as responsible as white when it comes to large gatherings, and that white people should stop trying to be so judgemental of the black race. Because should someone feel threaten to enter Giant Mart parking lot or go to Buggy Days.
Crime is up where ever education is little. It don't make any difference of your skin color. With an education a person can afford to live in crime "freer" areas.

Most ppl assume the worst of these types of areas. So when crime happens in other areas it is broadcast but just not on billboards. Meaning its not talked about much or made to where the public notice it. Plus most places are only talked about when something bad does happen, Thus giving it a bad rep. For ppl to down others is really not cool. I mean lets grow up now leave that stuff for the kids, cause it childish. You haven't seen anything yet. No jobs and many kids don't wanna work anyway. Even the girls are knifing and beating each other over nothing. Everyone wanted a global no borders economy and schools that cant do anything when a student is out of line. Now we got it. The only thing that kept us in check when I was growing up was we all knew certain teachers would kick our asses. Getting expelled was like a vacation. I'am embarrassed to be a citizen of Lamar County. The comments that some citizens of Barnesville posted on this site are very disturbing; especially the racial tone. I'am a very well educated African American that graduated from the University of Georgia and has an excellent career. I feel safe on Mill Street as well as Thomaston Street at all times. What happended on Mill Street could happen on Thomaston Street, Holmes Street, Any Street, etc. There are just as many uneducated, disrepectful, and out of touch African Americans as well as Caucasians. I would hope in the future that you would monitor the types of comments that are posted in relation to you (Herald Gazette).

Mill street is different because this type of thing is common in that area. It's not a black or white thing, it's a Mill street thing. You are the one who turned it into a race issue.
This type of thing is very common for Mill street, so no I would not feel safe over there after dark. That is not to say that I would not feel safe in any black neighborhood. If Thomaston street had the crime rate that Mill street has then I would'nt venture out on Thomaston street after dark. There is nothing racist about what Walter asked. Come on people. You can make the comments that you feel safe on mill st bla bla bla. I travel down mill st every day on the way to work and on the way home. I have for the past 5 years. I dont feel nervous about going down mill st or richardson st or 12th or any of them. Im in my middle 20s and we pretty much all went to school together and played sports together. Other than that im not sure how you can say that its not a racial issue. Sure it is. It is a racial issue all over the state. It is proven that the crime levels are higher (way higher) for certain races. Go to the Georgia department of corrections web site and look at the specifics of races encarcerated. When you look at it keep in mind that Mexicans are considered white along with other non white races. If you are asking how do i know this it is becuase ive been there and done that. I saw the shooter on mill st. If it is the same one they call ANT i saw him.. Little light skinned guy about 4 1/2 ft tall.. looks like he is 8. If so he has been in reform schools since he was little. Getting sent to YDC and other schools like that all his life. I came down mill st about 2:45am friday morning and saw him walking past the barnesville granite company with his shirt off. If ppl would just do away with ppl like these suspects instead of fighting with them. just get rid of them.

as far as the slavery comments go you ppl need to leave that alone. Every one that i grew up with and even my mother grew up with has had the same opportunity as each other. What does everything that happens in the world today have to focus on race. Crime happens everywhere in the world today, look at the crimes being committed in Iraq and Afghanistan, its just a different kind of crime but its still a crime. The newspaper journalise should get all the facts before that start slandering people names all over the paper based on hearsay. i understand that their was also another shooter involved in this but the paper failed to print that part of the story, as well as the fact that their were as many as 15 or 20 people involved in this altercation. I'am a very well educated African American that graduated from the University of Georgia and has an excellent career. I feel safe on Mill Street as well as Thomaston Street at all times. What happended on Mill Street could happen on Thomaston Street, Holmes Street, Any Street, etc. There are just as many uneducated, disrepectful, and out of touch African Americans as well as Caucasians. I would hope in the future that you would monitor the types of comments that are posted in relation to you (Herald Gazette).

Mill street is different because this type of thing is common in that area. It's not a black or white thing, it's a Mill street thing. You are the one who turned it into a race issue.

I dont feel nervous about going down mill st or richardson st or 12th or any of them. Im in my middle 20s and we pretty much all went to school together and played sports together. Other than that im not sure how you can say that its not a racial issue. Sure it is. It is a racial issue all over the state. It is proven that the crime levels are higher (way higher) for certain races. Go to the Georgia department of corrections web site and look at the specifics of races encarcerated. I saw the shooter on mill st. If it is the same one they call ANT i saw him.. Little light skinned guy about 4 1/2 ft tall.. looks like he is 8. If so he has been in reform schools since he was little. Getting sent to YDC and other schools like that all his life. I came down mill st about 2:45am friday morning and saw him walking past the barnesville granite company with his shirt off. What struck me is the FBI profile is white male, so I guess the question is it is o.k. to profile whites as serial killers but not o.k. to profile any minority for any other crimes cause it would be racist..hmmmm

Crime happens everywhere in the world today, look at the crimes being committed in Iraq and Afghanistan, its just a different kind of crime but its still a crime. Criminality distributions provide the answer. The mean criminality of black males is almost 1.3 SD greater than the white.
