If it wishes to develop the site for anything other than a non-fossil biomass fueled power facility, it must first receive the written consent of officials, such consent not to be unreasonably conditioned, withheld, or delayed, the documents say.
The agreement very clearly does not prohibt them from burning anything they want. It also very clearly, despite what the IDA is trying to tell us, offers tax abatements on a lease back option.
Even Missy Kenrick can't deny the words in the Memorandum of Understanding. Missy did try to assure me after the meeting that actual OPERATING agreement would be worded differently, but there is some question if we will ever see that agreement until after it is signed.
I'm not opposed to a power plant just because I don't like power plants. What I am opposed to is officials misleading the public. If we don't obtain adequate tax money from that plant, and if we don't lock them into the amount and type of impact they will have on our lifestyle, we will be in big trouble.
The IDA may work differently, but most people in this world that sign a Memorandum of Understanding have the document say exactly what they expect. They don't sign one that says one thing and then expect the other party to do the opposite.
The excuse now has moved from "we have protection" to "we will have protection later in the final agreement". If they didn't actually know what they signed now, how can we trust them to know what they will sign in the future?

There's no looting or yelling 'Where's Bush?', 'Where's FEMA?, Where's my check?', or 'Why isn't the Gov't out here saving me and my farm?'
Likewise, I've also noticed there are no reports of any other country coming to help or sending aid.
The reports are that the floods are doing more and costing more than Katrina. People in the city's and along the river were bagging there own sandbags trying to do and save their town. New Orleans people there did nothing but destroy their city and then blamed the govt. I watched the video from Wisconsin on the food vouchers and same people over and over. I didn't see a white person out of the 2500. The vouchers were supposed to be for flood victims and a bunch of ###### showed up because they thought they were giving out free food vochers. It caused a riot ,police were called....same crap would happen in any urban city if you said free something.....oh yea i'm being racist, give me a f-ing break!
