Firefighters wanted in city, county

Both city and county fire departments are seeking members who are serious about helping the community. Stop by the fire station next to city hall and get information and an application.

Judy and Leroy are wonderful people. They are always there to help others! Here is a time that we, the community of Lamar County, can help them! The LCCHS football team will be bagging groceries on May 2, 2008 from 4-8pm at Ingles in Barnesville. Both of Judy and Leroy's sons are members of the Trojan football team. All donations will go to the Holsclaw family. So, come to Ingles on Friday help out with this WONDERFUL cause! Let's show the Holsclaws how much they mean to the Lamar County Community!!!!

Hi Mr. Geiger

We all have been very busy with the building of the new house and school, kids. Plus living in the barn is not so good but grateful that we had it. I hope everyone understands the delayed on me sending out a late Thank you.

We are so grateful that we live in a very caring and loving county (Lamar Co.). The people are so giving and caring.
The night of the fire Leroy and I did not realize how many friends we had until that night. The community and friends poured out to see if they could do any thing to help us. Even strangers came bye to offer help. Our church members of Milner Bethel church were there. I mean just about all the members. Our 5 acres of land was covered with friends, strangers and church members. Even our insurance person was there. We are so bless to have so many people that cared and reach out to us to help.

I also would like to thank the people who came out and help us go through things and pack them up and those who help us work on the new house.
There is one person and he knows who he is that has been Leroy’s back up and advice person on choosing people to build this house.
Our thanks also go out to the churches, which gave us donations. We appreciate all your help.

Our Fireman and volunteer fireman are the best. They did all they could to save our house. Some of the volunteer fireman was kid's I knew at the school where I use to work and some were football players I help out by giving them pictures of the games they played. They came over to let me know how sorry they were that our house was on fire and that they could not save it. Those men work so hard Mr. Geiger. They did a great job. My dog patches was trap in the fire for about 20 minutes I think, and they assure me they would do their best to rescue her and they did, She is doing great now.

My sister in law is giving us a House warming party on Saturday November 8 2008. You do not have to bring a gift. We would like people to come by and see the house we work so hard to build back. We will be there all day.

On the third day in the motel my son Cody broke down and cried and said to us WHY DID GOD LET THIS HAPPEN TO US?
My husband Leroy sat Cody down and said son God did not let this happen to us, God is the reason you and your mom, brother and your dog patches are here today to talk about it. They both hug each other and Cody felt a lot better after he had talk to us.

I got an email with this quote in it.

When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better.
We had a great looking house that was almost finish, but now we have a house that has a lot of love from God and our people in the community, our church members, and strangers.
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.

Mr. Geiger we are so very bless and I thank you for getting the fund at United Bank started up for us.

The Holsclaw Family would like to thank everyone for all their help during our temporary disaster.
With all your prayers and help we have build back a great house.

WE ARE MOST GRATEFULL TO GOD. HE HAS PUT US IN THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME TO BE ABLE TO GET THE THINGS WE NEEDED TO BUILD THIS HOUSE.

Mr. Geiger I forgot to mention the Lamar county football players and the Lamar county High school teachers and staff.

The football players and coaches,Jen Bond bag groceries to help raise money to help us during this tragic time. The coaches and Mrs. Bond work very hard to get this done. We are so very great full for all their help.

We want to thank the Lamar county High school for their generous donation. I know that teachers do not make the money they should these days but they still open their pockets and gave. We appreciate it very much.

I hope I have not forgotten anyone but incase I did I want everyone to know that the Holsclaw family appreciate all the help that was given during this tragic time in our life.

Mr. Gieger there was never a Fire and Arson Investigation done at our place. This was an accidental grease fire.
I am not sure why someone would have made that comment.

Mr. Gieger I appreciate you putting my thank you in the paper but I for got to thank the LC Trojan Football team and LC school staff. Even tho I did thank them on your geiger counter but many may not have a computer to see it. I do not want them to think I left them out.
Thank you so much, I see ya at the game on Thursday for the LC JV game.
