Charles is my brother. If he complains about pain he really hurting. He doesn't like to be sick...never has. This ambulance crew is lucky something didn't go terribly wrong. Our family would be all over them. Our younger brother is a Paramedic and our Mother was an EMT in Lamar county for years. We know how an emergency call is supposed to handled and these people didn't even come close to getting it right. I'll be at the County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday to support Charles.

I know Charles as well and I am pretty close to the CARE ambulance service and I can tell you that what his sister says is correct. He will not complain about something that is not real. I can also tell you that this is not the first, not will it be the last time the ambulance service has screwed up a call. At least, not until they are fired by the county.

Charles Bowden is my daddy. I also know how he is. He never complains about anything not even a headache. I hope no other family has to go through what we went through that night. We as a community need to stand up and tell everyone how we feel. I agree that nobody is perfect but someone in that line of work needs to know what they are doing!! I will also be supporting him!!

Answers are easy. Questions are not.

A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a
2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we're seen:

1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) the cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!

I went to the county commisioner's office and obtained a copy of the contract that the county has with CARE. I asked about a rate agreement that was a part of the contract. i was told there wasn't one. After i had asked several other people in place's other then the court house i was able to get one.
Acording to what i have the rate's are:
ALS Base Rate $350.00
BLS Base Rate $250.00
Mileage $7.00 Per Loaded Mile
Oxygen $35.00
there is also an increase of $10.00 on each base rate for each additional year after the first year of the contract.
Now my total bill was $1,130.00. according to what i have that is a difference of $619.00. that is over 100%difference.
Al of this information can be found in the:
Lamar County Proposal for Emergency Medical Services
Section 4 Technical Proposal
Page 3of 3
Now the county pay's Care:
$27,083.33 per month that's $325,000.00 per year so if they run 15 call's per month that are all ALS call's thats $16,950 per month or $203,400 per year plus the rate the county pay,s them come's to $555,400.00 per year. now i know all of the call's are not going to be ALS call's so that mean's there's a lot more to be made by CARE.
Now i wonder if all this money is being made then why in the world did they have to use my wife's call phone to make a call and why isn't this money kept in lamar county where it should be kept and have the kind of service we all deserve.
