Presumptive Republican nominee John McCain, who has largely tied his candidacy to the war in Iraq, narrowly leads both Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton in a general election matchup, according to a new Los Angeles Times-Bloomberg poll.
Among those surveyed, McCain won higher marks than either Obama or Clinton for having the right experience and the ability to handle Iraq and terrorism — and most other issues, except health care.
Yet both Obama and Clinton, whose primary battle has generated great interest and excitement, appear to have succeeded in convincing most voters that they would more likely be the ones to bring change to Washington, the poll showed.
Still, the poll found McCain would beat Clinton in a general election matchup 46 percent to 40 percent, and he would edge by Obama 44 percent to 42 percent.
In both cases, McCain's lead is within the poll's overall margin of error of plus-or-minus 3 percentage points.

With the election still over 8 months away, along with the inaccuracy of polls in the last 8 years, any results have absolutely no meaning and anyone who votes for someone based on poll standings should have their right to vote revoked.
those who can, do....those that can do more, join the democratic party
Obama will win.
dont forget boys, this is america.....the one with the most votes doesnt always win....
This election will be decided by the vice presidential candidate. I happen to be a republican and I still have trouble trying to figure how McCain will be the pick. He's nothing more than another democrat. I guess he just trys to fool people. The democrats should be happy now. They have 3 liberals to pick from. I recond the sh-- has really hit the fan now.
I think there is a conspiracy. George Bush and Saudi has got together to increase oil prices so that he will benefit from it all when he gose home.
We should all write congress and senate and demand that all taxes be removed until greed has run its course.
