they do everything for us except provide us with health care.....but i bet you republicans think that the government shouldnt pick on the high end people....they should just tax the middle class.....or refuse shelter and food to the poor.....some of you probably think we should just tax what they spend out of the millions....so if they only spend 200,000 per year the gov would only get 50,000 per year.......how do you conservatives expect for us to pay for the iraq hundred year war on such a pittance

The government has been providing a health care service for years -Medicare/cade - and it is out of control and growing more burdensome everyday.
Plus- if you need medical attention and you are penny-less people like me take care of your medical bills.

We have to fund the war in Iraq, pay for health care and other things like airplane rides and security of the Whitehouse, and countless other wasteful things.
What we DON'T get, thanks to Bush, is inspection of our food, inspection of imported goods from communist China and other nations, health care for the WORKING class, border security, and other necessary services.
Someone has to pay for Bush's war in the country that never had terrorists instead of us being in the country that does have terrorists.
Might as well be the middle class paying for it, because the very rich and very poor or illegal aliensget the free ride.

I'm part of the "Working" class and I have health insurance. It was of no favor from any government. My employer provides it in lieu of higher compensation.

There is a place that is a liberal's dream. If you want to work, you can sign up and get a job during the day. If you get sick, healthcare is free. Therefore there is no need or health insurance. There are no classes. Everyone has the same amount of stuff and lives in very similar abodes. Everyone enjoys the same standard of life. What you have is not based on your worth or the value you offer to others. Everything you do or "own" is at the favor of the "government".
It's called prison. You can't have freedom without responsibility. They are inseperable from each other. They are both one in the same. You can't be free and have someone else provide you the necessities of life.

Most the people I know in this town on Govt. Disability are also die hard republicans. Most of them are not even disabled at all sure they go to there hearings barley able to move but then I see them running around town, Hanging out at football games, and doing everything they can except work. I am a Democrat I work 70 hours a week on average have my own health care and just paid over 35,000 dollars in taxes this. Did I say that Republicans were responsible spenders? I think government is the evil. I think at it's best, government is nothing more than a necessary evil. It doesn't matter who is running it. Our government has branched into far more areas of our lives than ever intended. You didn't answer my question. Why do you complain about paying taxes and supporting others, yet support a democratic party whose main goal is income redistribution?
And quit whining about the working class and NAFTA. Last time I checked we didn't have a Caste system in this country. This isn't India. And to answer your first question 11:37, I don't think they would save us money. But I do think they wouldn't add entitlement programs to an already bankrupt government.....at least not as many as the dems would. Hell, with the state we are in now, I would take someone who promised only a limited growth in government spending. A balanced budget is a myth with all of our current entitlement programs and unnecessary government spending.
And raising taxes will better the economy how?
Hundreds of BILLIONS more in government spending for Universal Health Care will be a boon to our economy how?
Obama's idea of ending global poverty by spending hundreds of BILLIONS more on foreign aid will increase our standard of living how?
Hillary's idea of capping corporate profits, confiscating the "excess" of these profits and redistributing them according to the governments own desires will increase free market output how?

i would buy some health insurance for my family if i won the lottery.......i got a job last year but it dont come with benefits......we eat better now that my wife and i work but without our medicaid, we suffer alot.......just hope we can make it until a democract is elected

Socialized Medicine would be another unbearable tax. The Social Security tax is already keeping me down. Socialized Medicine would just put me under.
The irony of it all is that I am 35 years old, and that if it were not for the government confiscating income from me in the name of saving in the Social Security fund, I would be retired by now (if not semi-retired).
