Also discussed was a house on Forsyth Street that has been converted into a four-unit apartment complex. Smith said that valuation would increase exponentially despite the owner’s frequent arguments with office staff.
-Someone's Lying. I wonder who it might be?
And Why?
Some people are like dogs getting into the trashcan. They just never learn.
they should tax commercial and apartment property fairly. they have been sticking it to a few county residential people year after year. its about time they went after commercial property and apartments fairly instead of just shafting single family homeowners who live outside the city.

I certainly hope Smith isn't doing any work requiring math!
Exponentially means as an exponent. An exponent is a power such as a square, a cube, or other multiplier.
If taxes on that property increased at the lowest common exponent used, a square, it would mean $1000 tax would be 1000*1000 or $1 million dollars.
This sounds as typically silly as all the tax and government spending tall tales like national sales taxes lowering taxes to everyone, the proposed loan bailouts, a $600 government gift to boost the economy, or promises to "let people keep more of their money".
There are far too many people who speak without thinking about what the words really mean.
Tom,
This property's owner contacted the assessors office and they said they didn't remember using the word "exponentially" in their discussion of this home's value.
In fact, they also said they couldn't recall ever having an argument with its owner, who has a cordial relationship with them, they said.
At present, the value is slated to increase from about $157,000 to just under $180,000.
So much for exponents.
And so much for fair journalism when it comes to bashing those you're jealous of.
its ok to pick at others and run around town talking about everybody but when the local gossip gets a little poke back they say the other is jeleous. the bible says as ye sew so shall ye reap. do to others as you want others to do to you.good advice to follow.
