This question was asked only because of skin color in my opinion. Therefore, why not be truthful and ask if a black man can defeat a white man for President of the United States?

The answer is absolutely in my opinion. People are looking for government to make their lives better and they don’t care what color skin the person has who can deliver. However, I believe, and I think some of the stats will support that the majority of blacks cast their vote by skin color. I also believe that a majority of women voters cast their vote for Hillary based on gender.

Government has grown too big and people rely on government too much. The president can’t deliver anything on his/her promise alone. Most politicians are in government today for greed and not what they can do for the masses. I’m also sure that this statement will be misunderstood but that’s OK, it’s my opinion. It one opinion that I truly hope can be changed some day.

Ain't gonna happen!

gmac, do you think maybe the question was asked because Obama is most likely going to be the nominee at this point?
Just curious.

With Iraq, pending recession & Bush's budget deficit, it is going to be tough for any Republican to win in November.

No question at all he can win, especially against McCain.

After the mess the Republicans and Bush in particular have made anyone other than a Republican is almost certainly going to win.

McCain will have the worse chance of all because more than 2/3 of the population thinks the Iraq war is senseless and thinks the economy is ruined, and we need a new direction. McCain, who openly lies about Romney, is continuing the failed Bush agrenda of being a liar and supporting a senseless war we never should have started.

Obama has the advantage of questioning that war from the start and being different.

Last night I sent Obama $500 in matching contributions because the last thing I want to see is Hillary. I know for sure a Republican isn't going to win, so I want to support someone as far from Clinton as I can.

Besides that it seems that illegal Mexicans seem to dislike blacks and I'm hoping with a black president they will go back home and enter legally a few at a time.

Obama is a win win for me. Opposite Bush, maybe he will do something about the illegals or at least they won't like him (they LOVE Hillary), and he is different than the same crap that hasn't been able to work.

McCain is the best thing in the world for the Democrats besides Bush, since he supports everything Bush dod that upsets 2/3 of the population, including being a liar like Hillary and Bush.

Well in 2004, seems like the Republicans were in a mess then and any Democrat should have been able to beat Bush then, but the Democrats are so sorry they couldnt even beat Bush who already had a very low approval rating. Many voters vote based on their moral values first and who they believe will be best (meaning best available to vote for among the choosen candidates) for the future of the country, not just who promises change without any real plans.

First, it's small business and American's who want cheap labor who love Mexicans...don't blame the politicians for a self imposed problem. Eg., who built the wall around Gordon, and who probably built your brick wall or paved your drive?

Second, can Obama beat any of the present republicans? I don't think so...maybe Ron Paul, but not the others.

Last, a combination ticket of Clinton & Obama or vice versa would be unbeatable except for a republican ticket of McCain & Bloomberg.

12:26,

You forgot Bush did get beat. He got beat by Gore.

After 9-11 Bush played the fear card. That was before the majority of the country figured out he was a liar.

Still, he barely beat Kerry. Bush and the Republicans started the Swift Boat lies to discredit Kerry. It's iron a chicken draft evader who hid in the National Guard was able to make someone who actually went to Nam look like the one wth a poor military history.

But then a lot of people are dumb enough to listen to all the spin.

Dumb time is over boys. Time to pay the price for having that dumb moron Bush make bad choices and lie for the past seven years. No way can any Republican win now. Suck it up and take it. Ya'll screwed up.

Yes he can. I think that he's just what America needs and I don't think that this is about skin color. If that's the case more people would have supported Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson in their bid for president. As a black American, neither race or gender is a deciding factor for me when I vote. I look for the candidate that's best for the job and after 8years of HELL I think Mr. Obama is it. Bush started his Presidency in the black and after 8 years of pork barrel spending the American economy is in the red and we're receiving loans from CHINA!

8:57AM - Nothing racial was intended. I was responding to the way I took the question. I went back and reread it and it still comes across that way.

And 8:50AM - I have freedom of speech. I think I can reply to a question exercising a degree of intelligence too. If you don't like what I have to say, don't read it.

obama can and will win the nomination (remember now that the repubicans dont have to vote in the remaining primaries, they are free to go and vote in the democratic primaries to defeat hillary)......but there is no way he can win the gerneral election.....he may get the popular vote but not the electoral vote....McCain is the next president, only question is who is vp.....until today, i thought it would be huckabe, but now that john doesnt need huckabe, he can go after a more moderate or northern canidate.....mccain knowns he is going to win the south no matter who is vp

Newsflash -- Bush didn't start the war with muslim extremist. These people started the war when they flew airplanes into our buildings killing thousands of innocent Americans while screaming "praise allah."

we dont mind the war with muslims, just dont want the ridiculus war with iraq.......sometime this week a 18 yr old will die in an unnessary war that started when he was 13.....bring the kids home safe

you are smart as gw bush. the 911 hijackers spent a few thousand bux. most came from sudi arabia where the bush family gets there`investment money. none came from iraq or has anything to do with iraq including there training. sadom actually kept el quida under his boot. your great leader bushwhacker upset the apple cart by removing sadam instead of sending troops to afganastan and pakastan where bin laden was. it must be hard for a pee brain to admit his great leader screwed up and spent gizillions of dollars creating a never ending problem where there was none because a guy he didnt really want to catch was two thousand miles away eating lobster and smoking some of that good afghan hash. retard bush did exactly what binladen wanted. he made bush spent trillions of dollars abnd kill many thousands of people from fear and stupidity.

For there not to be any Al Queda members in Iraq the US military sure has killed a bunch of them over there. Soldiers love our country and are willing to sacrifice their lives so their families and even crybabies like you two can continue to enjoy the freedoms of being an American. Democrats would rather see us fail in Iraq to make our President look bad than to save our country from further mulsim extremist attack. I just hope the next time Al Queda attacks us on our home soil they hit you two first.

Anonymous said...

all the alqueda came into iraq when bush got rid of sadom. if we had left well enough alone they wouldnnt be there. we created the problem by getting rid of sadom. sadom would have killed the elqiuda because they didnt like him at all. they were scared of sadem but they are not scared of us because we are unable to fight a war like that. the more we fight the more we look like fools.

wdm said...

No doubt they came in...that was Bush's stated plan from the beginning. Take the fight to them on their soil to lure them out of their caves and eliminate them. Go back to watching CNN.

THE US WONT ELECT A BLACK PRESIDENT AND THATS WHY SUCH AN EFFORT IS BEING PUT INTO MAKING SURE HE GETS THE NOMINATION. PEOPLE ARE JUST TO STUPID TO FIGURE THAT OUT.

MACAIN IS AN IDIOT. THATS WHY SUCH AN EFFORT IS TO GIVE HIM THE NOMINATION.

ELECT AN IDIOT AND THAT ALLOWS THE REAL POWER BEHIND THE FIGURE HEAD TO CONTINUE

On the Iraq War,
I found it interesting that no one has been able to win a war on the mountainous terrain in Afghanistan, excluding the old fashioned hand to hand style combat- maybe this too. I'm not saying that the Iraq Theater (or just plain war if you believe it to be a different goal other than The War On Terror) is a result of this historical knowledge or "the real reason for the war in Iraq" but I'm sure this was an issue that they were faced with after 9/11. Afghanistan was a must, Iraq may have just became the best area for massive troop confrontations if it lent itself to it. And by some of Saddam's past atrocities and uncooperative actions with the U.N. (I really can't blame ANY nation for not taking these guys seriously) it would be hard not to see this as a great time to boot him and give ourselves a better chance at cutting off the head of the snake. The goal of Democracy is a noble cause but if Democracy through our troops blood shedding doesn't have an equal return for our country as a whole it would be foolish, and in my opinion, trashed as a tactic, and I believe the Administration would have trashed it if we would not have gained an advantage. This is being argued now and will be for years to come but given the current situation that was at hand, 9/11, I'm not sure if any President would have reacted differently. We can poke holes through the past plans and say "shoulda-woulda-coulda" but that will only be a luxury future Presidents will have if encountered with a like situation.

Our Founding Fathers intended for us to trade and have peaceful relationships with all nations who wanted to be peaceful & trade (simple). We would have to turn the clock back for many years to regain this and undo many Democratic and Republican Foreign Affairs (not simple but possible). This should be a future goal but its not very fitting for current situations. Whether you believe that we created this Fanatical Muslim Monster or it was always there waiting to come out is not the point. It is real and must be dealt with. The future after this monster is what we should be preparing for but we cannot peacefully co-exist.
