The thoughts of starting a fresh new history of Trojan football in a brand new stadium is exciting!

A Good name - The Agriculture Bowl - Donated by Lamar County residents through theft and deception by a few sorry people deceiving the rest of the people through an authority they cheated and robbed and gave away without authority.

It amazes me to see the money supposedly educated people running school systems waste on nonsense. Of course at the root of all this is money the Ag Authority stole from the county and gave to the city.

Maybe the 5 million dollar plus stadium will have some policing so kids stop running wild during games? After all, if we are going to spend that much money for games we could at least be sure the games are legal and moral.

I ran out of breath reading your sentence. Maybe, next time, you can make a list? Dane would know how to do it right.

Just sayin'

Why can't you understand that city people pay as much county tax as you, plus city taxes?

8:20 pm,

Don't worry... it ok. Maybe meet at Lamar County Board of Commissioners or City of Barnesville Council? So I read newspapers. When start build? Barnesville/Milner in 2009-20??, North Lamar County in 2010 and South Lamar County in 2011.

Milner Police Station closed!!! Police chief White said; want Lamar County Sheriff in Milner.

8:24PM how much are you profiting from building the new stadium? I'm sure your answer is "Zero". You are just another sports minded concerned citizen worried abut good education because you obviously didn't get much; especially in the study of English Composition. Too busy chasing cheerleaders or jocks perhaps.

Yes, there were lots of unethical acts of behavior and money deals that went down with the agriculture authority scandal. And only two of our commissioners stood up for the return of those assets. However, the other two commissioners and the chair chose to give it all away and in some ways actually broke the law with SPLOST misuse. Yet so many apparently concerned citizens did absolutely nothing to stop the corruption and turned a deaf ear. Your efforts were awarded with taxes. When 5 million dollars is given away, the make up has to come from some where.

I guess you all can now claim the governor of Illinois as your new role model.

As I understand it Summers Field belongs to GORDON. Gordon wanted to do something with it.

Am I right Walter?

Anonymous said...

Summers Field DOES NOT belong to Gordon College and has not for a long time.

10:21 am, No football. Gordon wanted to do something... Build an apartment. or what build? Like high rise?

Anonymous said...

I rode out there to check it out. It's still a big mess....maybe we should stop and leave it like it is. That way the team won't be the worst looking thing out there.

First off learn to spell. Second the people that live in the city have to pay city and county taxes so get over it. We have far worse things to worry about right now then bitching about something that you can't change. It is done get over it! I totally disagree with whoever said that "feild" that would be failed first off and second my kids are doing just fine in Lamar County schools. The stadium and especially the auditorium will be used for events in the community. Gordon thinks a lot of there auditorium and it shows by how much they want me people to pay to use it. So I for one am glad that we will have other options. Be proud of Lamar County and our schools if not like I said before get over it.

8:01 PM you have no right to tell me to get over it. I can form my own opinions. Just because everything meets with your approval doesn't mean it meets with mine. A wrong was committed by elected officials. It is no different than the Illinois Governor's wrong, just a smaller scale. Another thing; I am proud of Lamar and the school. I am not happy with the way "Elected Officials" represented. I'm also sorry that you and so many like you are too ignorant to see because of school tunnel vision.

THINK. For once in your life, THINK. The governor was trying to make money on the deal, where he would then stick it in his pocket. The Ag. Authority had nothing to gain. NOTHING. Get it through your head. There is no good ol boy system that profits from the decisions made in Lamar County. If you were somewhat active in your county then you would relieve this.

Just a little Christmas Trivia here:

New (bis)cuit at I-(Hop)for the Holidays is called bishop.

Only name that the word "great" preceeds is Dane. A popular pet that is bought at Christmas.

At this time of year he is also known as Candy Dane.

One of the 3 wise men was a bishop.

Santa Claus was raised by some little elves and one of their names was Dane.

Pohsip is bishop spelled backwards and it is a Christmastime mediteranian dish that consists of sauteed mountain osyters.

11:22 AM, I'm sorry you're an idiot. You can't even understand a comparison. It makes no difference, a wrong is a wrong. That perhaps is why the term smaller scale was used. You have no idea who I am and how involved I stay. Regardless of what you think, the Ag Authority scandal was a criminal act that residents chose to look the other way when it was committed. And, If you really knew the facts other than slamming a pair of jaws together making noise, you would know too. Before you gripe, get the real facts. Or, you can continue to break wind under your nose. Nuff Said!

You can call me an idiot if it makes you feel better. The fact is that you are the type who goes around bitching and complaining about anything. You think everthing is a conspiracy and someone always profiting from it. As far as the fact, I assure you that I keep up with most everthing that goes on in Lamar and Barnesville and I am involved. I simply stated that the two comparisons are totally different. No criminal act was committed but your so hung up on the people in the Ag. Authority that you can't make the distinction, thus you’re not able to "THINK".

Anonymous said...

It was only a little criminal, it was mostly just a failure to follow the laws about authorities and where the assets go when they fail.

That is more stupidity than criminal.

Anonymous said...

lets see how this went.

the county passed a tax for the ag authority.

the ag authority was a county authority, not city.

the actual written law says when the authority fails or disbands the county should get the assets.

the city got the assets of the county.

some fools think since the city is part of the county it should control the county assets.

that places all the control of county money in the city that is basically run by one man.

the county then decided to get some of the money back from the city so all the people of the county could control it, not just the city.

as a part of the deal to get back money and property that belonged to the county the county gave valuable land to the city and the schools.

the schools being suddenly rich with land and a bus barn decided to spend millions of dollars on a stadium and give the old stadium to the city. the county gave up land. the city got land. the schools got land and a bus barn that the county had to replace.

isnt that what happened?

why arent people in the county happy with that deal? the city made out real good. the schools got a bus barn and land. the county got a little money back out of all the assets that were legally supposed to go back entirely to the county.

Anonymous said...

Might as well stop with all of this. Most people of the county have shown they didn't care about doing things legally then, and they certainly don't care now. It would be my guess that those defending the action so strongly now were involved in the scandal to start. It just proves that local government can actually make crime pay.

Remember at election time that there is still one more member sitting in the "CHAIR" of the county commission that gave away your assets after being told it was as illegal action.
