That police chief is one unhappy camper!

The only thing I see wrong in his doing was holding the guy at gun point. Other than that a simple mistake.

535 their is nothing simple about pulling a gun on a hunter maybe you are too simple

5:35...The ONLY thing you see wrong is that he held him at gun point. He threatened his life! He accused him of being on his land, which he wasn't. My husband has been hunting on his own land before and has had a stranger walk under his deer stand. He warned him that he was on the wrong property and needed to get off. Nathaniel did not do anything that warrented such angry, abusive behavior.

Simple mistake? are you kidding? putting a gun to his head and threatening to kill him all because he thought Rooks was on his land. that's a simple mistake? I would so hate to see you on that grand jury.

What's so sad is that Worthy's idiot lawyers are saying that it was all a misunderstanding. Since when do misunderstandings involve holding a gun to someone's head and saying you're gonna blow someone's brains out?? Someone explain that one to me!

Anonymous said...

wouldn't need a trial if that had been my son or daughter.

That so called peace officer is a worthless piece of meat.

He needs to serve big time in Reidsville, Ga.

Toto found out he ain't in Kansas any more.

Hope this one goes to the jury. Nappy will find out this ain't Atlanta.

Anonymous said...

A simple misunderstanding? yeah right not trying to play the race card but if it would have been a white man holding down a black man Jesse Jackson and Al sharpton would have been marching down thomaston st. so id say it would be a bigger deal than just a simple misunderstanding.

I said "The only thing I see wrong in his doing was holding the guy at gun point", you dumb hick! Read!

Anonymous said...

Is that all you see is color?

Hell I'm white and think the man made a mistake by pulling the gun on the guy and losing his cool. That's it.

If he pulled the gun on me without telling me he is a cop and showing me a badge, I would have shot him. If he did then I would have complied to what he said and tired to explain. I would even forgive him, but he still would have to be punished in some way.

If i was hunting and saw someone who I thought was on my hunting ground, I would have just talked to the guy sure.

But I bet the way some of you talk in here that you would have made some threats yourself. Mad yourself look like a fool.

The police chief should have not lost his temper and pull a gun on the guy. He will have to be punished for that. Maybe get him some anger management classes.

You people must not be a land owner.

I own land and if I see someone that's not supposed to be there they will have a gun to their head.

I have done it one and I'll do it again.

On the news it sounded as if Judge Thomas is trying to smooth it over for the campus cop. I know Nat-Nat and I know he didnt approach that campus crusader in a way to cause that kind of reaction from the MO-HO-PO. The dude better be glad it was the easy going Nat that he did like this... anybody else down this way, lets put it like this, their would be another missing person report.

I feel that the Rook man was wrong he had no business question this man about property that he didn't own...............................
if people learn to mind there own business this wouldn't have happen............................
if he had been white the Rook man would have never question him.....
I quest people assume that all black people committ crime or trying to steal but if the record reflect.....................I see
more of you committing the crime not us........................

Attn 11:29 -speak English much? Let me guess...

Anonymous said...

Classic example: Recently in the State of Washington, at a mall, there was a shooting. Crowds of people outside in the aftermath were white. All the witnesses interviewed were white. Not a black person spotted anywhere. For a brief minute I was thinking the ones shooting and the ones shot must be white too. Wrong.. here they come wheeling out Luther with bullet holes that Leroy had pumped into him.....I just said I should have known.

11:29 that was the dumbest comment i have ever heard. you are a complete idiot. he pulled a gun on a man and threatened his life you bumb ass

Anonymous said...

To 11:29 am
You have just proved a point, but not your own... Mr. Rooks was simply trying to talk to the trespasser (Mr. Morehouse popo)- and, use his brain not violence. Mr. Morehouse popo (who, by the way has NO jurisdiction anywhere but Morehouse- and surely not there, soon) was the one who resorted to violence and committed a crime. You are the one who has suggested that it has something to do with race.. I'm just saying... it is what it is. Mind your own business around blacks or you will be held against your will at gunpoint and have your life threatened. Was that the point you were trying to make? Cause you made it quite well!!

where yous gets yo reports?

You idiot! The cop approached Nathaniel. When Nathaniel saw the man he called the land owner and got out of his stand. As he walked by the "cop" he just waved at him and the cop pulled a gun on him and ordered him to get on the ground. Nathaniel never said anything to him, even though he should have. Nathaniel was just going to let the land owner handle the situation, but that crooked a@# cop pulled a gun on him.

Anonymous said...

Good thing Nathaniel did use his phone before he got out of that stand!!! We'd probably have a murder case on our hands if he hadn't. The Morehouse guy evidently had never been on that land before if he thought it was Nathaniel who was trespassing. All of my family are hunters, and NO, you don't have to put a gun to a person's head unless you are fearing for YOUR life first.....that's just the way it works around here. THIS AIN't ATLANTA.

If the cards would have been played the other way, we would have the whole NAACP and Jesse Jackson in Bville lynching Nat on the courthouse steps. I can't figure why this is being smoothed over like it is.

Anonymous said...

Why do you always engage in race-baiting?

Anonymous said...

11:42 it is going to turn into a race thing. You can bet on it. It also involves someone from law enforcement which is another problem.

The bottom line is that a wrong was commited and every possible avenue will be explored to fix the problem with the least exposure to race and the fact that a trained official of law was involved.

It all boils down to: If you have a little clout you can introduce a litte doubt and walk away quitely leaving the other person wondering how it happened.

You'll see in the end. Nothing will be done and it will all disappear quitely into the sunset. Perhaps as it should.

Anonymous said...

cause we like it! we like the old days...and they will come around again...its gonna be nasty this time! some whites gonna go down too.

Anonymous said...

12:45 AM, No No... No way NAACP but too small business. Jesse Jackson is in Chicago, IL. He not come in Barnesville. Police Chief Vernon Worthy was charges 4 times. Who witness... that Nathaniel Rooks saw a black man with hood and gun. He don't see the face. Rooks was not charges.

Anonymous said...

I think some of you are missing the point. A young man was held against his will, at gun point, with the threat of having his brains blown out and some other threats. He had to pursue the warrants himself with no help from the local law enforcement. Chief Worthy's lawyer admitted Chief Worthy pointed a gun at Nathaniel and put him on the ground. I for one, hope the DA and the grand jury listens to what happened and sends this guy to trial.

6:06 PM don't try and explain. 50% of LC is ignorant and another 40% is just plain stupid. You're preaching to the 10% that understood it in the first place.
