do you think the brian nichols jury....
will have the guts to sentence him to death since a guilty verdict seems to be virtually assured?
What Brian Nichols did, anyone will agree, was a horrific, monstrous, tragic thing. But you don't egg a jury on to sentence someone to death. You trust that they will consider all of the facts at hand; you trust that a judge will hand down proper jury instructions; and finally that a prosecutor will seek such a punishment if it fits the crime. Then you let the jury do their job - life and death are not something you consider with ease, without taking everything into consideration. If we must have the death penalty in our society, let's at least be able to discuss it in an adult manner and not like a football game.
7:46 While I agree things of this magnitude should be discussed in an adult manner, the fact that Brian Nichols has been in prison for over three years getting three square meals a day, medical and even dental care and has not even been through a trial for the horrendous acts he committed, just burns me up! What about the victims who were placed in a coffin in the ground???...What rights do they have NOW????...What about all the family members they left behind???....How do you think all of them feel??? What ever Brian Nichols has to endure from here on out will NEVER COMPARE to what these innocent victims and their families had done to them! Brian Nichols could care less what he did and who he did it to! He sinned by breaking one of the Ten Commandments and he needs to pay! I wish someone would put him ten feet under the jail!
With the economy in the shape it is in why is the defense team continuing to take money from the taxpayers to try and defend a guilty cold blooded murderer. Go ahead and sentence him to DEATH and save us a lot of money!!!!!!
