When was the last time a Lamar County Football team was beaten by this many points? I don't remember Mark Wilson teams ever losing by such a one sided score even when he was rebuilding.
Wow! I sure hope the kids can rebound from this type of butt whipping.
Al and Rip could take Mr Wrestling and the Assassin.
maybe Al, but them old men could still whip Rip's a$$!!
just think how much better they will be when the new stadium is finished!it's going to be breathtaking, amazing, unbeleivable
Actually just last year Lamar County lost to the same team in the same venue by almost the same exact score. And Mark Wilson is gone and, although he is a great guy, he had the athletes when he was here that gave him the run he had. He has not been very successful since leaving here.
On Friday, October 31 the Trojans will host Pike County for the final game ever at Summers Field Memorial Stadium. Next year, the Trojans till move into their brand new stadium on Roberta Drive. To say farewell to the field and celebrate its nearly 70 year history, the Lamar County school system is inviting everyone who ever played, football or soccer, marched, cheered, drilled, etc. on Summers Field, whether for Lamar County or Gordon Military, to come out and be a part of history. A huge tailgate party is planned for before the game and all Summers Field participants from over the years will be invited to come down on the playing field and be recognized at halftime of the game as a history of Summers Field is read. So make your plans now to attend and pass the word along to anyone you know who is an alumni of Summers Field. Look for more details in the coming weeks in The Herald-Gazette and for more information contact Mr. Calvin Scandrett at the High School or Dr. Bill Truby in the superintendent's office.
5:31, Former Gordon Military, SEE. Not Gordon Military. Just... Lamar County Military.
We as a community need to get behind the football team and support them. We need to get active in the booster and make this a football community. I say we because I myself have has done a poor job of supporting them. I go to a game or two but thats it. If we want a top notch program then lets get involved. One or two people can not do it all, it take a community.
Dude we could get involved all we can, but it's not gonna make those kids out there do any better. I have been to 3 games and we are horrible. We are small. We can't tackle. We can't run the ball. We can't stop the run. We can't catch the ball. We can't stop other teams from catching the ball. We fumble all the time. We snap the ball over the QB and punters head. Only kind of involvement that would help this team is to get a couple of fans or parents that do attend to suit up and play!
