nobody has ever been able to come up with an individual performance at the veneraqble old stadium to top that of dontavius jackson of heard county. on november 10, 2006 jackson, now a redshirt tailback at uga, had 41 carries for 405 yards, five touchdowns, six tackles, two tackles for loss and one interception.
if you know of a better night in the history of summers fileld, let me know.
here is a highlight package of jackson from youtube. after the first few plays, it is all of the game here that night. the stuff of which football legends are made.

Ron Hinson - Lamar County November 1977 passed for 524 yards and 5 tds against Troup County. At the time, the 524 yards was the 4th best in US high school history.
I don't remember the date. But It was when manchester was ranked 1# in the state and we won the game in the last seconds of one of the last games of the season. I was very young then but I remember that one.
I not so sure the Heard Co. back was that good or was the LC team just that damn bad....I mean my God what were they doing. It looks as though they thought he had some kind of a contagious disease and was scared to touch him...damn!
GHOSTOFAVIKING
