THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT
WINTRY WEATHER EXPECTED TODAY FOR MUCH OF NORTH AND CENTRAL
GEORGIA.

.SYNOPSIS...
LOW PRESSURE IN THE NORTHWEST GULF THIS MORNING WILL MOVE EASTWARD
ALONG THE GULF COAST TODAY...AND NORTHEASTWARD TO OFF THE COAST OF
THE CAROLINAS TONIGHT. MEANWHILE...A COLD ARCTIC AIR MASS WILL
BUILD INTO THE SOUTHEAST DURING THE DAY...WITH TEMPERATURES
STEADILY FALLING.

.PRIMARY HAZARDS...
THE PRIMARY HAZARD WILL BE ACCUMULATING SNOW OVER MUCH OF NORTH
AND CENTRAL GEORGIA. PRECIPITATION MAY BEGIN AS A MIXTURE OF
RAIN...SLEET...AND SNOW THIS MORNING...BUT CHANGING TO ALL SNOW AS
THE ARCTIC AIR MOVES INTO THE AREA. FOR MORE INFORMATION...REFER
TO THE SNOW ADVISORY AND HEAVY SNOW WARNING.

.DISCUSSION...
LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE EASTWARD NEAR THE GULF COAST TODAY. AT THE
SAME TIME...ARCTIC AIR WILL PUSH INTO GEORGIA. TEMPERATURES ACROSS
THE AREA WILL FALL STEADILY DURING THE DAY...WITH MOST PLACES
HAVING THE HIGHEST READINGS AROUND SUNRISE. SOME UNCERTAINTY
REMAINS IN THE TRACK OF THE LOW AND PLACEMENT OF HEAVIEST
PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS. HOWEVER...AT THIS TIME IT LOOKS LIKE
THE AREA SOUTH OF ATLANTA TO ATHENS...AND NORTH OF COLUMBUS TO
MACON TO SPARTA SHOULD GET THE MOST SNOW. AMOUNTS IN THIS AREA
COULD TOTAL BETWEEN ONE AND THREE INCHES. THE AREA NORTH OF
ATLANTA TO ATHENS SHOULD SEE SOMEWHAT LIGHTER AMOUNTS OF SNOW.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY
NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.
