the district 127 house runoff.
with all of lamar and pike counties and all but one precinct in upson county reporting, maddox has 56% of the vote. maddox leads jim fletcher 2341-1838.
maddox took lamar county 234-150. he also took pike county 976-445.
these results are unofficial and will remain so until certified by secretary of state karen handel and the elections superintendents in the three counties.

Scoop - I disagree with i. I like the new format much better.
The old format of allowing anonymous to make unchecked comments had made this blog seem like a Jerry Springer show.
i think it proves people are really brave in attacking others when they can do so anonymously but when they have to chose an identity - even just a screen name which i have no way of tracing - they are not so courageous.
i really don't have a problem with comments about public officials but when they rip into the families of public officials or private citizens, that is where i draw the line.
unfortunately, the google blogger system does not allow me to blacklist those who get out of line - and, i am sure that is a minority of the posters.
my only other option is to allow anonymous comments but have them all e-mailed to me for approval before they are posted. that is a lot of work and takes the spontaniety out of the blog.

Im sorry scoop but the new format is not the problem, Ive always posted a name but I have not posted a comment lately because there was nothing worth commenting on....Why no more politics? the debates are rageing! But dont get me rong i do like the blog and thank you for the work you do.
I don't have any suggestions but I don't like this format. The cowards won't comment any longer and it appears that if you don't want to discuss football - there's nothing to discuss.
