bcs selection show at 8 p.m. tonight.
will the dogs make it to the title game?
where will tech wind up?
is it time to go to a college football playoff that stays within the current bowl framework as i have preached for the past several years?
or, is the flawed bcs system the best we can do?

well i saw the writing on the wall for UGA as Mizzou and WVU were being beaten from their chance to play for the NC. LSU's win in the SECCG gave them the jump over the mutts. I've said here before that UGA was playing some of the best football in the country at season's end, but losing to South Carolina and Tennessee, both of who LSU beat, really hurt the dogs. The sad thing for the mutts is that they hoped for all these different things to happen to get them in the NC and all of them did and they end up in the sUGAr playing unbeaten Hawaii. If only one of the two, Mizzou or WVU, lost last night, UGA would probably be in the Rose against Southern Cal. So, unbeknownst to the mutts, they were sort of digging a grave by pulling for the unthinkable to happen. To a Tech fan, like myself, its laughable. Poetic justice, if you will. Yeah I know. We are going back to the Smurf Turf Bowl. But that is what we deserve and I'll be sitting in front of the tv on new year's eve pulling for my Jackets to get some revenge on Fresno State for that whoopin they gave us in Silicon Valley a few years back. But we did do very well last time we played in Boise so I am banking on that to happen again.
GO JACKETS!!!
The Bull CS has done it again. Now if LSU wins the Natl. Championship then at least there will be a stronger push for a play off. If LSU win there will also be at least three other teams crying that they deserve to be the champs.
Saturday night I couldn't even sleep for thinking about the Dawgs in the national championship. Sunday night when I was watching the BCS show my wife asked me if I was about to cry. This is a real bummer for the football team but I imagine Coach Richt will have them juiced up again by January the 1st.
A playoff system would be the best solution for the fans, but colleges will not go for it unless they are guaranteed some BIG $$$. All these useless bowl games (Humanitarian, Freedom, Toilet, etc) send serious dollars to both the teams playing and more importantly, the conferences. Other than bragging rights, the conferences don't care about the national championship.
In other words, it's all about the money.
Scoop,
The tax you speak of in the home page poll is not the "fair tax". The state legislatures have simply hijacked the name to try and piggy back on the popularity of the real "fair tax", which is designed to replace all income taxes on the federal level, i.e. income tax, social security, and medicare.....not property taxes levied at the state and local level.
The state designed proposal is just an increase in the existing state sales tax in lieu of assessing property taxes on us.
