Smart move for Petrino and a God send to the hog fans. Who wants to deal with a DeAngelo Hall? Hearing this news after all the cheesy interviews with Arthur Blank last night on MNF, my conclusion is NFL football is making Arthur Blank look very silly.

Petrino was hired to coach Vick & since that's not going to happen he is smart to return to the college ranks. The number of successful college coaches who made the transition to the NFL is about as high as the number of Heisman trophy winners in the NFL Hall of Fame.

Falcons always have been & always will be a loser franchise.

I think that its funny the Lou Holtz did the same thing a petrino did. Coached 13 games in the NFL and then quit to coach a Arkansas. Blank is still a good man he has just had some down right bad luck. The good thing about him is that he is willing to spend the money to make the falcons a good team and he will find a way to do that

This is the best for both organizations. Bobby Petrino was out of place coaching in the NFL. He's a college coach period.

DeAngelo Hall, a DB with the Falcons and one who has never been known to hold his tongue told all who would listen the first of the season that some coaches are only qualified to coach in the college ranks.

Now that's a piss poor comment.

I WAS a Mike Vick fan. Keyword being WAS.

I loved to watch him play. No, he was not a prototypical pro quarterback but he was the very best athlete in the league and it was exciting to watch him play.

I was very disappointed to learn of his part in the dog fighting scandal. So disappointed that I have watched very little pro football this season.

Petrino, I believe, lost interest in coaching the Falcons when he lost the chance to coach Vick.

He is a very good college coach but just was not up to snuff at the pro level. I think, had it not been for Vick's troubles and exodus, that the Falcons would at least be playing .500 ball under Petrino.

That said, I agree with the players calling him a "coward". I liken it unto a commading military officer deserting his men in the heat of battle.

I know the guy will probably be successful at Sooey U but I wont be pulling for him.

The Falcons have had a problem since McKay was hired. He put the Tampa Bay Bucs into cap hell, made draft choices that were atrocious and has/is doing the same to the Falcons. Blank needs to recognize this mistake and get rid of him.
