vote will be held february 5, the same day as georgia's presidential primary. that means city voters will vote twice in two different locations that day.
voter registration runs through january 7.
qualifying is december 19-21. peter banks is the only currently announced candidate while mayor pro tem lynn wilson announced tonight he would not run.

Nothing against Peter Banks, but he does seem to be part of the "in" crowd. Just drive down Thomaston Street. Electing him will be saying we like it when the good old boys rule. I don't see that he will be any different than the Matthews regime. Progress in Barnesville will cease except where it will line the pockets of those in power.
