a vehicle driven by henry abreu struck a camper being towed by a pickup truck. abreu suffered only minor injuries. none of those in the pickup pulling the camper were injured.

I feel sorry for this person.
If our prosecutor did his job properly and quit making deals this probably would not have happened.
As I recall the Sheriff caught this guy driving drunk but the prosecutor somehow let that one go away.
It is ironic that the local system allows people with real problems to not get the help they need. Milam and his crew send some poor girl away for years instead of getting treatment while they make deals that let people with other problems out on the street.
This could have easily killed an innocent person. I hope now the prosecutor takes this problem seriously.
I'm very sorry this happened but to get attention and proper prosecution and care in this community always requires a rich or powerful good old boy local to reach rock bottom. Perhaps this time he will get treated like a poor common unpopular person.
If he would have killed someone it would have been on the good old boys and Milam's heads, not Abreu. Abreu needs help and Lamar needs a prosecuter who protects the community AND the individual being charged. Not this unbalanced crap we have now that is waiting to blow up in our faces.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Maybe our DA needs to stop protecting HA and start treating him like the convict he his. He has broken his probation, if this had been anyone else they would have already been put into jail. HA is not this great special man this town thinks he is.
How many people would be feeling sorry for him if he had killed a child last nite. I am sure that for some of you here in Lamar that would have been the childs fault also.
Kenny Roberts bailed him out. Last time in the drunken incident with teen age girls Kenny and Gene brought him food at the jail and woke a judge up to get him out post haste.
The normal judge was not available this time so they made special calls to get a judge to release him again.
One wonders what relationship exists between these people that a poor white girl or black teacher can have their live's ruined while dangerous people like this bonded out by public officials.
