Pictured here are future Michael Vics. Please teach your children that you can have fun without torture!

I think that a rattlesnake or copper head chase should be on the agenda next year. At least choose something that can fight back. You don't want your kids growing up to be woosies, do you?

One time I almost had that pig. I was about 8 or 9 years old. My dad told me to not run with the crowd but to stay in the open and the pig would eventually run to me. Well the pig did and I grabbed that joker by its hind legs. He was slippery cause they'd greased em up before the chase. I had em for about 2 seconds and then Brian Nicholas jumped on me and that pig just slipt on away. Oh well.....so how it goes.

Unfortunately, the as the rest of the state watches, the county continues to push forward into the 17th century. The event certainly gets more press than the drop out rate for the local high school, and the lack of interest in math and science in our schools. Animal respect, even at the food source level, is directly proportional to respect in general. Indeed, directly proportional to self respect. Respect and compassion are fundamental questions on any higher employment application. Problem is, most of these kids will not have the opportunity to fill out such a form. What they see is what they become--it is not harmless, something is harmed needlessly at someone's trivial amusement. I, for one, am not amused, just merely looking for another house in another county.

The fact that this event has to be defended, justified and validated, within itself invalidates it. The animal is a food source animal without much of a pleasant end, and dishonoring the animal makes oneself much the same. I like bacon, but I respect where it comes from. Its not cute, its M Vick stuff. I do not belong to PETA either. Its simply decent behavior, and that mess is not. It validates that stupid behavior is acceptable, and it is not in general society. Maybe in this county, but not in the real world. The problem is some of your children may actually go out and get a job in some other state or country. Set the standard, and your childern will follow.
