I know Lester will do great things with property. He is a great asset for Lamar County. Thank you Lester for investing in Lamar County. I hope the community will support you in what ever you do with property because I know it will be good.
I am glad someone local purchased this building. I hope the City of Milner and the county will have financial resources from this to reach the goals they are persueing.
I don't know about Milner but the county did'nt reach their goal which was to pocket a lot of profit, not sure if they even broke even.
BROKE EVEN? IT WAS GIVEN TO THE COUNTY!
Please, whatever you do with it...No more BBQ!
I agree 9:33 NO MORE BBQ
Please, give me a break. That property should have sold for at least $500,000. Why wasn't a minimum bid set to begin with or at the very least put on the open market?
anon 3:07: it was on the open market for anyone to buy.
let me clarify.. was the property advertised in the Atlanta, Macon and other large market papers? Possibly it should have been listed with an agent from a larger market that specializes and has experience in commercial properties ( and no, I am not a real estate agent).
Kick-backs that you are unaware of and that those receiving them deny.
If the county can take your property and sell it for the back-taxes you owe even though you have worked hard to pay for it. what difference does it make if we sell something that was ill gotten to the highest bidder. Thank you Mr. Ranew. hope to see the place put to some good use.
8:38 obviously you don't have a clue the sheriff spent in the hundreds of thousands of dollars for months worth of 24/7 security(lots of which was over time),security camera systems, utility bills,100's of hours of manpower going through every single item out there and documentations and on and on,Last figure I heard was over 300,000.00 dollars SO DO YOU CALL THAT FREE??
Hell yeah, I call it FREE!!
am i the only one who noticed the 9.11 in the price? was this subliminaly inplanted into the comissioners heads so how?
P
too bad is was not $911,911.00
but thanks anyway lester. you da man. look forward to seeing what you do here.
LESTER RANEW: CITIZEN OF THE YEAR!
Lester's a member of thst BIG church in Lamar County. I hear he's going to give it to the church. He's already given them 10 acres of land.
LESTER...YOU GO GUY. YOU DA MAN!
would not doubt that in the least bit,i'll bet its tied back to rudy some how, once ya get that bennie butter on ya you become mighty SLICK
Good for Lester. I do agree that anything over $300k for that property is icing on the cake. I also believe that there were kickbacks. There are always kickbacks. It's the price of doing business, anyone should know that. By the way, if you decide to write comments on this site, check your spelling and grammatical skills.
AT LEAST SHE LOOKS BETTER THAN BUICE AND HASN'T SCREWED OVER AS MANY FOLKS.

WHATS UP WITH THE MISSING DRUG MONEY AT THE S O?
who knows.....ask the GBI
i will!
if there is missing $$ at the SO, I wonder if it is the same place that several hundred thousands are that were taken from a business in a neighboring county. That female now works at the SO.
She must be a close friend of buice because that is all it takes to work there.
Hmmm.... that info sounds like it could be juicy. Anyone know anything about that? I'd be a kept man if I could fine a woman that would bring home that much bacon!
