truth is stranger than fiction....

to quote television evangelist earnest ainsley, "send me $20, put your head up close to the tv screen and i will heal you".

from the new york times...

Juanita Bynum, a televangelist who has won a national following with sermons about women's empowerment, was badly bruised in a fight with her estranged husband as they met in an attempt to reconcile, police said.
No charges were filed in connection with the confrontation between Bynum and preacher Thomas W. Weeks III, founder of Global Destiny churches, police said Thursday.
The fight happened early Wednesday in the parking lot of the Renaissance Concourse Hotel near Atlanta's airport, and a hotel bellman pulled Weeks off Bynum, Officer Ronald Campbell said.
''She was bruised up and battered,'' Campbell told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. ''She had purple bruising around her neck and upper torso.''
Weeks did not return a phone message or an email request for comment Thursday by The Associated Press. A call to Global Destiny was answered only by a recorded message with information about the ministry.
Campbell told the AP on Thursday he was unsure if investigators had spoken with Weeks.
Asked about the fight, a woman who answered the phone at Juanita Bynum Ministries in Waycross said, ''We're not at liberty to discuss it at this time.'' She did not identify herself.
Bynum is a former homemaker, hairdresser and flight attendant who became a Pentecostal evangelist. She got a break when Bishop T.D. Jakes invited her to speak at one of his conferences several years ago.
Her ministry blossomed after her ''No More Sheets'' sermon about breaking free of sexual promiscuity at a singles event. She writes books, records inspirational CDs and preaches to millions through televised sermons.
She married Weeks in 2002 in a televised wedding.

I thought 3:10 was a word scramble, but I cant figure it out.Anybody out there to translate that jibberish?

I'll give it a try. I think it is archaic Barnesvillian for sure, possible a Redbone dialect:
"Be quiet. We are not con artists here. Just ask the boys at the store. You are lying."

What is suppose to be "stranger than fiction"? That domestic abuse can happen to a Christian woman with a national audition? As a Christian woman with a graduate degree, who just happens to be white, trust me when I say anyone can find themselves in a relationship that involves domestic abuse. First you don't know how you got yourself there. Second you don’t know why you let it happen. And third you don't know how to get yourself out. Seeing as we are reading about the abuse in the New York Times instead of her obituary it looks like she got herself out. Good for her, otherwise she would be purple and blue just like the thousands of other women in this county that you don’t hear about or do read their obituaries. I am sure she would have much rather made the New York Times for any other accomplishment instead of being a victim of domestic abuse.
