Gee, nobody running from Lamar County. Let us again praise our great legislature for gerrymandering us into so many different house and senate districts that nobody has to pay any attention to our needs.

billy maddox

Billy Maddox is DEFINITELY the better candidate. Research these guys very carefully before you decide and you will come to the same conclusion.

Any Repukeblican is not a good choice!!

Billy is the best choice ~ hands down! I would be proud to have him represent Lamar county!

Billy Maddox has good, common sense. He comes from a good family. Maddox has my vote!

I went to high school with Billy Maddox. If he is like he used to be then you can trust him to do what is right.

Ok Billy, quit posting so many glowing remarks.

What do you mean RESEARCH these canidates? I see no skeletons in eithers' closets.

We need someone with a constitutional conscience. Billy Maddox is the man.

Billy Maddox can identify with all the communities in this district. He grew up in and went to school in Upson county, he lives in Pike county now married to a Pike countian, and his parents work(ed) in Barnesville forever. I think he would make us all a great representative.

Jim Fletcher is one of the most admiral people I've ever met. I hope he wins because Pike, Lamar and Upson need someone of such high quality to represent us.

Jim Fletcher is the best candidate for the job. He is the most honest and fair man I have ever met. He is a graduate from Georgia Tech, and a Retired Navel Commander. He has the education and military background we need in our legislature. He is also a great Christian, and I challenge anyone to do research on him and find anything negative on him. He is also a good solid conservative.

Every one says that Jim and Billy are both fine Christians. I would like to know where they go to church and what they believe. I have heard some weird stuff and
weird ain't good.

I don't know Billy Maddox. I know Jim Fletcher and he would make an excellent State Representative. I doubt seriously that Mr. Maddox can show me anything that would make me think he is the more qualified of the two.

What kind of wierd stuff? There is nothing wierd about Mt. Gilead.

You better be careful, Billy, because negative campaigns only show true colors.

I will Support Jim

Jim Fletcher is the man for the job. He has had leadership experience both in the Navy and in his line of work. He has very deep roots in each of the three counties. His father and paternal grandparents all lived in Molena for many years. His mother and maternal grandparents and great-grandparents have very deep roots in Upson County. Jim was born in Thomaston and graduated from R.E.Lee High School in Thomaston. He holds the rank of Eagle Scout in The Boy Scounts of America. He graduated from Ga. Tech. and served 4 years active duty in the Navy before going into the Reserves where he retired after 16 years as Commander. While in the Reserves, he was associated with NATO and spent two weeks each year in England. Jim's wife's familiy has roots in Lamar County while his wife's paternal grandparents lived in Pike County. As a funeral director in Upson County, Jim is well respected in the Georgia Funeral Directors Association where he served on many committees as well as State President. He currently serves on the Macintosh Trail Regional Development Council and is a director for the First Bank of Pike and a member of the Thomaston Kiwanis Club. He spent some time at the State Capital earlier this year lobbying for a bill to help the funeral directors of this state.

As far as a Christian - Jim has always been a Christian. Where he goes to church (or anyone else) should have no bearing on political life. All TRUE Christians are God's Children, and in God's sight a denomination makes no difference as long as they are living by his commandments.

I challenge you to dispute this.

No, I am not his mother writing this. You could have read most of this in the Thomaston Times on July 25, 2007..

Ain't is a word. It has been around much longer than much of today's jargon. Just because you weren't allowed to use it in school doesn't mean it's not a word. It appears in several dictionaries including the Oxford English Dictionary.
