I applaud volunteerism and, the people that make POSITIVE impacts on our community. These people are truly outstanding citizens! However, if people volunteer for alternative motives and/or personal gain...these are the people who should be called down!

Many organizations are political in nature...and many office holders are there for their own personal agendas. Many are there to put their name and business in the limelight, and sometimes these personal agendas hinder rather than foster the public good.

Sounds like our local chamber has had its' share of inner politics. To bar an executive director of Teresa Brown's calibre (I do not know the director before Teresa) from entering the building does not sound very professional to me.

I am an outsider looking in; so, I certainly am in no position to give advise.

From reading these posts; however, I sense a need for a more mature professionalism in the local chamber.

Libertarian-leaning, anti-war Texas Congressman Ron Paul was the top candidate in the 11-day straw poll. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani was second in the poll, which asked Republicans to name their choice for 2008 presidential nomination. Former Senator and actor Fred Thompson was third and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney came in fourth.

ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END
And it's the same with the wildwood weed.
One day this fellow from Washington came by and spied one and turned white as a sheet.
Well, they dug and they burned and they burned and they dug,
And they killed all our cute little weeds,
Then they drove away,
And we just smiled and waved,
SITTING THERE ON THAT SACK OF SEEDS!!

If we all truelly care about our community then we need to all support it!Let's give Amanda some encouragement- this is not helping anyone. We all have made some mistakes- we need to learn from them and move on until we succeed. I know from personal experience that chamber does care about it's members and the betterment of the community. BUT it takes a community effort- not a single person or group. Let's unit and work togather.

I have read enough on this blog to make me absolutely sick to my stomach. I don't live in Bville but I visit frequently. I am discusted at all of the negative comments here. You should retitle this blog "Sticks and Stones". God help all of you.
