incumbent barnesville mayor dewaine bell has qualified for reelection as has incumbent ward 3 councilman sammie shropshire.
also up for grabs is the ward 1 seat held by anne claxton.
qualifying is also underway in atlanta for the district 127 house seat vacated by mack crawford. reports today indicated veteran pike county educator bonnie byrd gardner would seek that seat along with the two other announced candidates.
qualifying for three council posts also runs through wednesday in milner.
