Dont know about the politics. Am concerned that only one company got to bid on the contract. Why wasnt the contract closed and reissued, so as to get additonal bidders?
I don't know the in's and out's of the bidding procedure but from previous experience Pilkenton Construction does good work and is a reputable company.
You know it is interesting how many of us see the world differently. Anyone who is middle class or less who does vote republican is beyond my understanding. The people of this country better wake up. Nationalism is desolving because the world is changing due to our globle interdependence. We may not like it but that's the way things are moving. If we do srand alone we die. I measure a country by the ability of it's poor to move into the middle class while republicans don't care but to allow the rich to get richer.

WE'll build nice homes on that street and not far into the future it too will also become rundown and a slum because people will not take any pride in the place they live and will not keep the properties up. One of the stipulations that should be put into effect when people take over the houses is that they keep them up and presentable to everyone.
If the houses are rented or purchased by the black people who have no pride in what they live in.But would rather ride around in fancy painted vehicles and have invested a lot of money in fancy tires. No its the truth- look at the hiphop culture and its praise of violence, joblessness and do what ever you want to lifestyle. You need to be honest with yourself and then change can take place.
When compared to other races in the USA Blacks actually are the less achieving when compared by population.
Most crimes, violence, death from homicide, and unwed mothers just for a few right off hand- let's not forget the educational status.
On a lighter note, CURRENT African Immigrants, or persons coming from that country here for education, have the highest percentage of people achieving thier college degrees, this is what I have heard. It is interesting how many whorl around the word "Truth" like a stick in order to strike others that don't meet their own exspectations. Success is not determined by one's achieved level of education or their aquired finacial net worth, but by the amount of adversity they had overcome in their life. A culture that has experienced literality hundreds of years of oppression doesn't climb into mainstream society over night. The family unit could take many generations to reestablish itself back again into the middle class. It's only been about 40 years or so since the civil rights movement and only about thirty or so since educational integration.
Truth is a construct of a reality as we each choose to see it. I have meet too may black people smarter than I to know what you say has any bit of credibility.
Although, I am more conserned about what is in a persons heart than what's in their head.
