the bypass is to be named for rev. martin luther king jr.

Frankly, I'm so tired of seeing MLK Drive, Street, Avenue or whatever everywhere I go these days. I'm not disrespecting the man, he was a great leader but there were alot of other great leaders too. Let's show them some love (in every city) why don't we?
why isn't it going to be named for someone who actualy DID something for lamar county.name it JOE BUICE parkway-- name it for someone who has shown some leadership in the community

Now that we have agreed to give the Communist Chinese 50 million dollars plus grant money to create about 250 lower paying jobs at best, promised them no taxes, allowed them to bring nearly finished goods into this country for final assembly to avoid taxes, the Bush administration not done a damn thing about them undervaluing their currency, and accepted the fact they are even ruining our food and beef industry when they can't feed their own children I think we should name the highway the Chairman Mao Won highway.

There is probably a cave somewhere where the world won't intrude on your miserable lives. Change is inevitable. Accept it or not, doesn't matter. It's going to happen. Racist attitudes, hatred, sarcasm, and even petty quarrels only make life harder to bear. Life isn't long enough to feel the way some of you feel. Grudges only hurt you, and make others not want to be near you. Life can be good if you want it to be.

Why dont they name it Barnesville Bypass, and leave names off it. If there is a great desire for a street named for Martin Luther King, why not name Mill street for him. His constituents are there, and they could be proud of their street.

I too am so tired of all the streets and roads being named after MLK he is dead and gone and it is a tribute to him to name streets after him but he is not and never will be all that, people should not honor him by repeating mistake after mistake after him. There are a lot of people that we should honor and they aint all black. But to name it after Bobby Burnette would also be a mistake. He held Barnesville back for a lot of years. Look at all the construction going on in Barnesville since he has been out of the loop.

I feel there should be a referendum to name the road. The three most requested names, and write in. 51% gets to be the winner. Other wise it is called bypass.
