the state highway 18 bypass, as it will be officially known, did not open at 2 p.m. this afternoon as had been announced.
crews are on the roadway know, striping it. when asked when the road would open, one worker said, "when we gets through."

Can you imagine working with hot asphalt on hot days like this? My hat is off to those guys who work on our roads. Not only is it hot but also dangerous out there.
I wonder, working with the hot asphalt in this weather, has it caused brain damage of the DOT folk?
At least they didnt name it after a civil rites whore! mlk had nothing to do with building this bypass im glad they didnt name it that.
