and, while we're at it, how is it that benoit comes off as some sort of victim after he killed his wife and child?

different strokes for different folks. there are millions and millions of people worldwide who enjoy this soap opera like entertainment vehicle. why? same reason folks like nascar, football, theater, etc. it entertains them. i remember watching "rasslin" with granny in black and white on saturday nights live from the municipal auditorium in atlanta back in the day when the superstars were just ordinary steroidless men like mr wrestling, bob armstrong, buddy colt, the assassins and the list goes on. now its glitz and glamor and big beefy guys and scantily clad women that attract the fan base. certainly not my granny's rasslin
I wonder why the media has spent so much time on this item. It is over nothing will change what has happened. I see that just because you have alot of money, doent make you a better person. You obviously have the same faults the rest of us do.

Ther surely does seem to be something fishy about this story. Are they really saying that he was drugged? Did he really do it. How could anyone murder his wife bind her and then a day later kill his only child then a day later kill hisself? Like I said something fishy going on.
You can only blame the doctor a small amount. Nobody forced Benoit, or anyone else, to take & abuse drugs, then murder his family.
The doc might be scum, but he didn't kill those folks.
It appears, that nobody seems to think this person is responsible for his own actions. Blame his Doctor, Blame the Garbage man, Blame the Postman, Blame the Airline. Dont Blame him. I say that is alot of Bull. This dude is reponsible for his own actions, he knew the risks he was taking, and didnt care enough to protect his own family from himself
