career criminal in court tomorrow...

wouldn't it be great if all his victims (and there are many) showed up and demanded this puke be sent to prison for life?

from this week's print edition:

A man described as a ‘career criminal’ will be in court here July 11 for a pre-trial hearing on the case resulting from his latest brush with the law.

Charlie Mays, 40, faces multiple charges related to the theft of an automobile from a Thomaston Street home last November. He has been in the Lamar County jail since his arrest shortly after the theft.

At that time, a quick check of the Barnesville Police Department computer system showed 10 arrests for Mays since 1999 and eight city court convictions since 2001.

At the Lamar jail where Mays has one of the thickest arrests records on file, a records check indicated 20 bookings for him since 2001.

Mays has also done two stretches in the state prison system on multiple charges including aggravated assault, obstruction, criminal trespass, simple battery and shoplifting.

After the theft of her automobile from her yard and reviewing Mays’ criminal history, his latest victim, Denise Schramm, asked, “How could he be free?”

Mays will appear before Judge Tommy Wilson. Proceedings begin at 9 a.m.

What happened to the 3 strikes and out criminal lockup program? If there was ever an example of why this should be in place, Charlie Mays is the poster child!

I don't know. Tommy has been pretty lienient with most folks who come into his court. Not the tough judge he protrayed himself to be before being elected.

The three strikes program means that you are convicted on felony charges. Were all of his convictions felonies?
