what is the coolest automobile...
you have ever owned? why?
what cool auto would you like to own?

A 1973 Camaro, sandstone, with black interior. I really enjoyed that car!
My dad had an even cooler car, but he didn't know it. He owned a '57 Chevy, and he used to take me to school and the old Pastime Grill (run by Martha and Red Edge in the late '50's and early '60's) Now that was a cool car! In the later 60's, my older brother would shine that car up for his Friday night dates. I wish I had that car now...it had some wonderful memories!
dmom - you're telling your age cause I remember those same times. Bet everybody don't remember where the pastime use to be located? Can you still remember the soda shopp? I'll give you a hint - it was close to a 5/10 cent store.
My coolest Automobile, was when I lived here in Barnesville, growing up in the 50's. I had a 56 Chevy, 2 tone blue convertible, with a blue top to match the car, and a continential kit on the back.
My Dad and Erbie Turner, bought from a Mr. Knott the origional Pastime Grill, at the end of WWII, I have a picture of them in the grill.
"The Frosty Palace" was in the area of Rose Nails. The Dime Store (as we called it) was in that same area too. We would go to the Frosty Palace in my Dad's 57 Chevy, too. Red Edge's Pastime Grill was over where Atlanta Street comes into town near the scrapbooking store.
1969 mustang fastback sporty lookin car cream yellow with black top and black interior and the 1966 ford fairlane five hundred. Poppy red four in the floor and a hell of a lot of get up and go.
the frosty palace was where dr. jacksons dentist office was and the 5 & 10 was where rose's nail place is now. remember well the big candy counter in the front of the store as you walked in.
1968 SS Chevelle 396-375 HP. Bought new for less than $3000. After all modifications for power increase, it got 5-7 mpg. Gas was 39.9 cents per gal. I thought I was one very cool guy because I owned this wonderful machine. If only we could see ourselves as others see us.
7:12 PM I would love to see the picture that you mentioned and if it is Howard Lamar Knott I would love to have a copy of the Knott boys granddad in the grill. Jewel speaks of this restaurant "Past Time Grill" they owned it from 1947 to mid 50s and she told me it was in the building with ARMORY on the top.

The coolest would have to be 59 Impala painted baby blue with white leather interior (saw it on Barrett Jackson)

My coolest car was 1950 Ford coupe with fender skirts & glass paks...wish I still had it!!!
i think it was the FROSTY PALACE if i remember correctly from looking at my mom's old Gordon yearbooks
1974 Yellow CJ-5 Jeep
Black Seats, 44" mud tires, hard top that stayed at Milam Gulf most of the time.

My mom worked at Tampa's Cafe as a teen. Tampa Brown was a fine man, and I still remember well the day he died. Mrs. Brown is still alive, I believe.
How bout The Rambler the Knott boys had. Or Jabo's Chevelle.

I ate at Tampa's Cafe Many times. I have one of the Silver Cream Pitchers from that Cafe. Great Memory.
What do you remember about the RONSUE?
I used to tell Mr. Lifsey (another GREAT Barnesvillian) that he should call Krystal and demand money for stealing his little burger idea.

I remember going to Hog Mountain in my 1964 GTO. It was a fast ride & I tried to be with the girls.
The town's obsession with Dane continues. I think he should be Mayor.

I sold that Chevelle to Jabo. I loved that car. Definitely the coolest I've ever owned...until now. I love my Outback!

The coolest automobile for me is a sporty SUV with
mud terrain tires for an outstanding grip during driving on slush.
