reports are steve duncan will open an o.b.'s barbecue in the space currently occupied by big chic when it moves to its new location where milam's gulf formerly stood.
opening tentatively set for mid-august.
there have also been reports that a new shane's rib shack will open here soon.

That would be great for Barnesville to have an OB's. The more variety the better. We eat out a lot.
When are we getting a StarBucks ???
we have, or at least HAD a Starbuck's. it was located in the big three story bldg at Gordon College. there is a Krystal there as well, in the student center

I find it moderately interesting that an OB's Barbecue may be coming to my hometown. I am much more excited to learn, though, that the Big Chic will still be there. When I first started reading the post, I thought the Big Chic was closing. Now, that would be a tragedy.
When I come home and am there long enough to eat out, there are two places I want to go.
One is the Big Chic, which has the fourth best fried chicken I've ever tasted. First is my wife's, second was my mother's, third is Carter's Fried Chicken in Adel, GA, and then Big Chic. The only fried chicken I ever had in Barnesville that beat the Big Chic was the broasted chicken at the Old Dairy D'Lite that was on Hwy 341 in front of Burnette's Thriftown Grocery (now the Dollar General) back in the 1970s.
The other place I try to eat is the Country Kitchen. I've had plenty of catfish that is just as good as theirs (Old McDonald's Fish Camp across the Savannah River from Augusta, The Catfish House near Reed Bingham State Park in Cook County), but the Country Kitchen has, hands down, the best cole slaw in the world.

Cant wait till someone decides to put in a real restaurant. Something nice, where you can sit down and actually get a good meal!
I love O.B'S BBQ! I am so happy that they are coming to Barnesville. The baby back ribs are delicous!!!
Watch out for Buice he'll take it away from you unless you are in the click.
Finally some real BBQ comes to town! They have really good catfish too. My husband and I have eaten at the O.B.'s in McDonough several times.We are happy to hear that they are coming to our town.
Will there be any job openings
I have ate there once.... was not impressed. Might have been a bad day for the cook, but my food was bad enough I walked out and went to Longhorns!!
