What is with the DA? He is always making a deal, and letting someone off. Why doesnt he try a few cases, maybe he will see what being a prosecutor feels like.

It's called "plea bargaining". If every case went to trial, the county would be bankrupt. DUH! What's your sign?

Hooray! Hooray! Hooray! The "Teacher of the Year" deserves her legal problems to soon be behind her. She is a great friend and excellent teacher! I pray that she will be able to teach somewhere in the future...the children need her!

They need to legalize all drugs anyway. Save the jail cells for people who commit crimes against other people. If this happened tomorrow the world would be going nutz but in about five to ten years we would have a society of responsible people. And all the money blown on drug wars can be spent to further educate students and get addicts clean, but if they don't want to be clean, give them a good chance at blowing thier heart to pieces. Money saved and prisons full of real criminals.

Rev.MJB-
I expect to be blasted on this one- oh well, the truth hurts.

Good! Yes, her example was bad and she has lost her job, and her reputation in her hometown. She does not need to serve any prison time. If an example were made of every influential person in this town who takes a toke every now and again, Barnesville would stay on the nightly news.

She hasn't lost her reputation. She is one awesome lady who just happened to enjoy a smoke every now and then. Geez people...it's just dope.

Smoking dope is illegal, need I say more?

Cuban cigars are illegal too. Should we prosecute those who smoke them?

Wasn't her charge just a misdemeanor though? Isn't that basically a traffic ticket? I've never heard of anyone having to 'cop a deal' to beat a 68 in a 45 zone speeding ticket.

I would rather the D.A. prosecute two felony cases, the selling of drugs, than prosecute one for a misdemeanor.
Possession of marijuana in any amount is illegal, but sometimes deals need to be made.
There aren't enough jails in the world to house misdemeanor offenders.

not what's your sign. It's HERE'S YOUR SIGN.i'M STUPID.

If we locked up everyone in Lamar County who ever smoked pot, there would be many a fine folks in jail. Yes, some were irresponsible early in life before they had to act like roll models of today. (They got it out of thier system early)

Point is: let he who is without sin, cast the first stone.

Get off this womans case already. She has lost her job teaching (and should have)She continues to be talked about for her mistake. She has agreed to assist the DA so as to take two pushers off the street.

You folks out there who have hit the bottom with your bad habits can relate. You are probably some of the same hypocrites giving Ms. Mary the devil. Remember when you hit bottom. You did not get better by being ridiculed. Someone reached out and helped you. Reach out and "pay it forward".

Lets see where we go from here.

Just a Good Ole Boy trying to get along and make it to end like everyone.
Hope to see ya THERE!

The last great democratic hope -- former President Bill Clinton -- openly joked about smoking marijuana on MTV (of all places)during his first presidential campaign. He was elected to the highest political office in the world. But yet, this individual pays the ultimate sacrifice in just about all regards of her life over a dime bag. I don't understand the justice in that and never will. I feel sorry for her and for her having to go through all this.

You don't understand the logic get this Bill Clinton should have been impeached for all the crazy things that he did while president this was the administration that started the downfall of the moral character of our elected officials.
