clearing the way for an end to the ag. authority assets controversy, pending a vote by the county commission tomorrow night.
the city is expected to accept summers field from the county in exchange for all or part of the current/former assets of the ag. authority.
the school system has agreed to trade the commission one acre of land near the bus barn on roberta drive for summers field.

The county hasn't approved anything yet. I guess the assets are being held hostage. Isn't there's a criminal name for it. Oh well, that's what lawyers get paid for.
This is apparently going to get interesting. I've got a solid hand so call me if you wish. I don't mind raising. What's the limit?
Pun intended. It's easy to call when you know you have the winning hand.
On another note.
Does anyone else consider discussing these Ag Authority assets behind closed doors violate the sunshine laws?
In the business world, it is called leverage.
You are correct Mr. McCall. It has always been that way here...a big cloud of secrecy surrounding anything involving the public. Trade properties all you want folks and go ahead and make your deals but remember the "Sunshine Laws" are there for a reason. They protect both the citizens and you as well. Consider doing things above board for once and keep both hands on the table. That hand under the table seems to be reaching for something that it shouldn't hold. I applaud Mr. Lynn Wilson for voting no last night on this "deal." Mr. Mayor, please bring some straight talk and clarity to this mess. You have always stood above the fray.
Are they swapping land that the county already owns for more land that the county already owns? I thought the ag property was county property. How can the city swap land they don't own?
You know, they caught a young man in Atlanta two weeks ago because he was trying to trade in a car he stole from the dealer back to him.Sounds like the same thing to me.
i too have a small piece of swamp land, oh i mean prime real estate that needs swapping for something really cool like uh, uh, uh a town square maybe!
consider it.
this headline should have read "city council approves the perfect county rip-off"
